It’s The Great Pumpkin, Show That Is!
If you live in New Jersey’s Heartland and love all things Pumpkin, then you’ll want to clear your calendar October 12th through the 14th for the 15th Annual South Jersey Pumpkin Show Festival at the Salem County Fairgrounds in Woodstown, New Jersey. The show opens at 5 p.m. on Friday October 12th, closing at 10 p.m. Friday evening. It continues Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days with Pumpkin Fun Galore!
Friday’s festivities get under way with entertainment at the Bands Main Stage with Roadhouse 4 and a Halloween Costume Contest for kids 4 through 9, with $100 for the Best Costumes Family Group. There will be Trick or Treating, the Boo Barn opening, the lighting of Decorated Trees and the Giant Pumpkin Pyramid, and the Spooky Headless Horseman Reading and Arrival at the Graveyard.
The fun continues Saturday with Main Stage performances by the Diablo Sandwich Band and Acoustic Acrobat Band at 11 a.m. and 2:45 p.m., respectively. There’ll be hayrides and pony rides, the Fall Painted Rock Hunt with prizes, the Decorated Wagons, Strollers and Floats Parade for kids 6 months to 4 years, as well as the Pumpkin Dessert Contest and Free Sampling and Adult Pumpkin Toss for $500 in Prize Money.
Sunday is Finale day all around, starting with the Giant Pumpkin Weight Off at Noon and Free Goodie bags for the kids at the Main Office while supplies last. After the All-Breed Fun Dog Show and Contest comes the highlight of the Pumpkin Show; the Little Mister Pumpkin Show King and Little Miss Pumpkin Show Queen & Court for kids ages 4 to 8 on the Main Stage at 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., respectively.
Throughout the course of the three-day festival, you’ll be able to shop from more than 100 craftsmen, visit the Salem County Fall Home Show, enjoy wine sampling, food trucks, a food court and much, much more.
The South Jersey Pumpkin Show Festival is a safe, family friendly and affordable event created out of the love of the fall harvest of pumpkins. This is a completely self-supporting festival made possible by the vendors with Admission FREE and just a $5 per carload parking fee which covers you for all three days. The show is organized by Kathy and Leslie Wright and Fair Director Anthony Lanzi.
