10 Fun Things to Do in New Jersey’s Heartland This Fall
While others are suffering because summer has ended, New Jersey Heartlanders are warmly welcoming the Fall. Here in New Jersey’s Heartland the fun doesn’t end with the passing of summer. Quite the contrary. Our farms are blossoming into surreal colors, our vineyards are blooming, and our historic towns are alive with fall festivals and events. To kick off Fall tomorrow, here is a list of 10 fun things that New Jersey’s Heartland has in store for you this Fall:
- New Jersey Wine Week – September 18th-September 27th
During wine week, wine festivals are held featuring wines from New Jersey and the region, food from local restaurants, and live music. The following are happening right here in New Jersey’s Heartland!
South Jersey Wine and Food Festival – Sept. 26th & 27th – The 5th Annual South Jersey and Food Festival will take place at Lake Lenape Park East – 753 Park Road in Mays Landing. There will be an array of food from local restaurants, and wine samples from eight South Jersey wineries! For more info, visit www.sjwinefestival.com
Appel Farm Music and Wine Festival – will be celebrating wine week a bit later on Oct. 3 at 457 Shirley Road in Elmer, but will have an incredible selection of wines from 15 wineries, including wine from Auburn Road Vineyard. For tickets, visit www.appelfarm.org

- Woodstown Fall Festival – September 26th
Woodstown historic downtown shopping district is full of small local shops, historic houses, and diners that truly have a history. Each year, it comes to life with the coming of the Woodstown Fall Festival. The festival features crafters, vendors, the local shops line their food along Main Street, and the historic houses are decorated in “their Fall best”. 3. WheatonArts Festival of Fine Craft – October 3 & 4th
The Festival of Fine Craft is a two-day event held at the WheatonArts and Cultural Center in Millville. This year’s festival will have 130+ juried artists, musical entertainment, food, a glass pumpkin patch, a beer and wine garden, and us! New Jersey’s Heartland will be there giving away prizes. - Oktoberfest @ Historic Smithville – October 3 & 4th

- Glassboro Craft Beer Festival – October 3rd
Beer lovers will have a chance to enjoy a wonderful Fall day in Glassboro at The Glassboro Craft Beer Festival held at Rowan BLVD. - 12th Annual Gloucester County Italian Heritage Festival – October 4th
Benvenuto Autunno! The annual Gloucester County Italian Festival is an all day family fun event filled with performances like Italian folk dancing, kids’ activities, craft vendors, and delicious authentic Italian food! The festival is held at the RiverWinds Community Center in West Deptford.
- Deerfield Township Harvest Festival – October 8th-October 11th

- 12th Annual South Jersey Pumpkin Festival – October 9th-October 11th
Pumpkins are a Fall staple, and New Jersey’s Heartland has nest of pumpkin farms throughout the region. There are many that deserve a visit, but the Salem County Fairgrounds of Woodstown dedicate a weekend to showcasing pumpkins at the South Jersey Annual Pumpkin Festival. - 6th Annual Taste of South Jersey – October 12th

- Fall Festival Celebration of Westville – October 17th
A festival dedicated to the wonderful season of Fall. This year’s event will be held along Broadway in downtown Westville, and will include fireworks, crafters, food vendors, live music, a car show, and a beer garden!
