Show Yourself a Little Vegan Loving at the Self Love Vegan Café
Food experts the world over agree – “Going Vegan” has officially become the biggest food trend of 2018. According to Forbes Magazine, sales of plant-based food in the United States went up by 8.1% this past year, growing to $3.1 billion. Plant-based dairy alternatives are expected to represent 40% of the combined total of dairy and dairy alternative beverages within three years, up from just 25% in 2016.
If you live in New Jersey’s Heartland – and specifically the City of Bridgeton – you can get a great taste of the Vegan Craze by stopping by one of the Heartland’s hottest new restaurants – Self Love Vegan Café. Located at 40 East Commerce Street in Bridgeton, the Self Love Vegan Café is open from 10 AM to 6 PM on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
“We started our journey last year with a food truck, and traveled all around New Jersey to different vegan events, music festivals, food truck festivals, and animal sanctuaries,” said Kirsti Snyder and Vinnie Straub, co-owners of Self Love Vegan Café. “Now, a year later, we are building a new and larger food truck and have been able to open our café space.”
When the plates are delivered and you take your first bite, you would never know that some of the “meat sounding meals”– including an awesome cheesesteak or a zoodle salad with squash and zucchini strings and their version of a chili topping – have absolutely zero meat. If you love guacamole or the taste of orange berry salad, you are also in for a double win.
