Patriotic Bike and Pet Contest Featured in Parade
Hammonton, NJ – MainStreet Hammonton is sponsoring the third annual Hammonton Independence Day Parade in Downtown Hammonton on Wednesday, July 4th at 11am. The parade will run along Bellevue Avenue from Egg Harbor Road to Third Street and will begin lining up along the railroad tracks on N. Egg Harbor Road at 10am. Multiple bands, dance troupes, floats and more have already registered.
Alicia Murphy, who along with Councilwoman Brooke Sacco are the Parade Co-Chairpeople said, “There’s nothing more American than the 4th of July, and we’re excited to have residents and visitors enjoy the Hammonton Independence Day Parade in our charming downtown.”
Children and adults are invited to decorate their favorite bike, scooter, wagon or stroller in patriotic colors. Patriotic pets are also welcome to join in on the fun. Bikes and pets will be eligible to win prizes. Bike participants may stop by Toy Market at 200 Bellevue Avenue for free decorations before the parade.
New this year, Golden Feather Gift Shop is sponsoring a Patriotic Baby Contest for children 2 years old or younger. The winner will receive a $100 Golden Feather gift card. In addition, patriotic children, adults, groups and pets all have a chance to enter to win other prizes.
Winners of the Warren E. Sooy Elementary School’s Patriotic Essay Contest will lead the parade, holding the official parade banner.
