The Salem County Historical Society, in conjunction with the Hancock House, is pleased to announce a children’s history program on Salem County and the Civil War to be held this July. The program will feature costumed interpreters, games and activities all related to the experience of Salem County during the war. Children will learn about the life of a Civil War soldiers and the experiences of Cornelia Hancock, a Salem County native who was at the Battle of Gettysburg. The event will take place at the Hancock House State Historic Site in Hancock’s Bridge. This program will be open to children 8 to 12 years old and they must be accompanied by an adult. The program will be held from 9:30am until 11:30am and we are asking that anyone interested please RSVP as soon as possible.
