Every Seat is a Splash Zone

On Friday, September 14th, 2018 Eagle Theatre’s NOIR: The 3D/4D Semi-Cinematic Satirical Thriller, opened to rave reviews. This experiential magnum opus marks the birth of a new form of live entertainment, Theme Park Theater, a new term coined and trademarked by Eagle Theatre.

NOIR: The 3D/4D Semi-Cinematic Satirical Thriller brings the magic of theme park style entertainment to live theatre. Seamlessly blending live action comedy with three-dimensional cinematography, while using interactive in-theater 4D special effects, this farcical fanfare includes; wind, mist, scent, bubbles, pyrotechnics, seat sensors, strobe lighting, projection mapping, and surround sound.

Creator/Co-Writer of NOIR, Eagle Theatre’s Artistic Director Ted Wioncek III shares, “Audiences are shocked when they walk into the theatre and are immediately handed a pair of 3D glasses. It may be hard to believe, but it truly is equal parts 3D film, live stage production, and theme park fun. You do wear glasses, you do feel the wind, you do smell the scents, and every seat is a splash zone!”

This homegrown World-Premiere production also features an original score, created by Eagle Theatre’s own Musical Director, Jason Neri.

Neri explains “We drew inspiration from the music from noir detective films and musicals, as well as jazz standards. The score is another component of the immersive experience created by Theme Park Theater. I am a huge Disney World geek. Music is such an important aspect of their parks and is present everywhere you go. For me, it is what completely takes me out of real life and transports me to live in my imagination.”

Imagination abounds this daring new comedy, offering nonstop visual and sensory experiences throughout. Eagle Theatre has hinted that this limited engagement run will not be the end of NOIR’s journey.

Ed Corsi, Producing Director of The Eagle Theatre states “The question on everybody’s mind is ‘Where is Theme Park Theater going next?'”

Wioncek concludes, “Wherever the imagination will take us.”
