Animal Hero Karen Lasasso

The animal lover Karen Lasasso is a true heartland hero who is beyond passionate about what she does. Karen resides in Atlantic County and works on behalf of Animal Aid USA. It is a volunteer based organization that is committed to helping animals. To someone like Karen, her job does not seem like “work” at all. She performs rescue transports that travel down south about once a month and comes back with puppies and dogs. When Karen first started working, she rescued 25 dogs in the first month and now on a monthly average she rescues over 250. With her continuous effort in being a voice for animals in need along with the help of volunteers she has saved nearly 25,000 animals as of this November. Karen’s heartfelt efforts towards saving the lives of animals are exactly what exemplifies a Heartland Hero.
