County To Offer Additional Flu Clinics
Salem, NJ– The Salem County Department of Health and Human Services is expanding its flu clinic schedule to offer additional clinics this season in Salem and Penns Grove.
A flu clinic will be held Wednesday, November 28th at the 110 Fifth Street County Office Complex in Salem City from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Flu shots are free for county residents, and they are available for children three years and older. The vaccines are made available through funding from the Salem County Board of Chosen Freeholders.
The date and location will be announced for the Penns Grove flu clinic.
“We are pleased to be able to expand our flu clinic schedule this year. Freeholder Charlie Hassler had asked if we could serve the walking communities in Salem and Penns Grove, and we are able to do so,” said Freeholder Director Melissa Decastro. “We are thankful to be able to have this accessible to more of our residents.“
The County Department of Health and Human Services provided flu shots to 1,200 residents visiting the drive–through clinic at the Fairgrounds, LAC, Oldmans, Schalick High School, and Cedar Lane Auction.
“In previous years, the department hosted clinics in Salem City, but funding cutbacks resulted in reducing the clinic schedule,” said Freeholder Ben Laury, who chairs the Health and Human Services Committee. “This will be the first year we are able to schedule a clinic in Penns Grove, and we anticipate the turn-out will be good.”
