Jose Lozano CEO of Choose New Jersey will give an update on their new business recruitment and retention strategies
Jose Lozano is the President and Chief Executive Officer for Choose New Jersey, Inc., an independently funded and operated 501(c)(3) whose mission is to encourage and nurture economic growth throughout New Jersey with a focus on urban centers.
Previously, Mr. Lozano served for five years as Chief of Staff and Vice President for Corporate Services and Governance at Hackensack Meridian Health. Mr. Lozano has an extensive background in government, most recently leading Governor Murphy’s Transition team as Executive Director. Prior to that, he was appointed Deputy Chief of Staff and homeland security advisor at the U.S. EPA under the Obama Administration. Mr. Lozano also acted as Director for External Affairs within the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness for nearly two years. Mr. Lozano began his political career with Governor Jon S. Corzine as Policy Advisor and eventually serving as Director of Operations.
Mr. Lozano earned a Bachelor of Arts from Stockton University and a Master’s degree from the University of Maryland – College Park. He is an active board member of NJ Future, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that promotes sensible growth, redevelopment and infrastructure investments. Jose, will join Tim Sullivan CEO of the NJEDA on a panel to talk about New Jersey’s economic development strategy for business retention, recruitment, and expansion. The event will be on May 3, 2019 from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Cumberland County College.
