WheatonArts Conjures Up Magical Fantasy Faire June 22-23
Imagine being transported to a medieval world filled with Sherwood Forest scoundrels, Treasure Island pirates and a bell ringing Parisian Hunchback. You will find all this and an entire world of fantasy fun brought to life at the WheatonArts Fantasy Faire, Saturday, June 22, and Sunday, June 23, 2019.
Produced in partnership with Mystic Realms, Ltd., this year’s Fantasy Faire will feature live performances on four stages throughout the grounds from 10:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. on both days. Costumed characters, including Robin Hood and his Merry Men and the Pirates from Treasure Island will stroll the grounds. At the Court of Miracles, you’ll meet and witness performances by Esmeralda and other characters from the Hunchback of Notre Dame fame.
At the Misplaced Pub minstrel groups will blend modern humor with traditional music and otherwise irresponsible antics. The Magnificent Magician Merlin will travel to the Kingdom of Wheaton to conjure up a breathtaking displays of magic and juggling. There will also be a Spring Pole Raising and Dance for all ages (1:30 p.m.), Phoenix Swords Performances 1(2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.), Society for Creative Anachronisms (11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.), Create a Fire Breathing Dragon Marionette (11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.), and Tell Us About Your Imaginary Friends! (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) to keep you entertained.
You can also enjoy a variety of storytellers, live performances, drumming and dancing, as well as race the obstacle course, play pirate games, get your face painted, go on a scavenger hunt and sharpen your archery skills.
