James Donio
Main Streets are an integral part of New Jersey’s Heartland’s fabric. Jim Donio is truly one of the Heroes of Downtown Hammonton, one of the most successful Main Streets in the region.
Jim, who started his first business at the age of 12, has been volunteering with Downtown Hammonton since he was 17 years old. He is the founder of the non-profit Eagle Theatre, which has grown into a regional destination and holds the distinction of being South Jersey’s only year-round professional Equity theatre.
Jim volunteers to lecture and host workshops for small and medium-sized business owners and non-profits throughout South Jersey in an effort to stabilize and expand their capabilities and reach. He helped found the Hammonton Art District, while establishing the Hammonton Artist Studios and coordinating the Stockton University-Hammonton partnership.
Jim currently serves as the Managing Director of The Eagle Theatre, Downtown Hammonton Advocate, Member of the Tourism and Development Committee, Member of the Technology and Innovation Sub-Committee, and Chairman of the Municipal Grant Committee. Jim, his wife Kelly Donio, and their three children reside in Hammonton, where Kelly owns and operates the Toy Market.
