TD Bank and CCIA Partner in Axe Throwing and Investment Event

TD Bank and the Cumberland County Improvement Authority partnered to hold an Axe Throwing and Investment event at the New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, NJ. This event promoted different investment tools that are available for economic development in Cumberland County.

A discussion on New Market Tax Credits was led by Leah Sandbank of McManimon, Scotland & Baumann, LLC, and Gerard Velazquez III of the CCIA. Their discussion focused on how tax credits played a major role in the financing of the Millville’s Arts and Innovation Center.

John Costello of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) presented information on how the opportunity zone initiative will be implemented in the State of NJ. The NJEDA has set up and online portal to connect investors with potential projects while the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs has created an interactive map demonstrating the amenities and institutions within the designated zones in NJ.

Ed Bethea of Gateway Community Action Partnership and Hans Lampart of Eastern Pacific Development provided information on the Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and projects completed using the program in both Vineland and Bridgeton.
