Bus Trip To National Museum Of African American History & Culture Scheduled For February 27
A bus trip to the National Museum of African American History & Culture in Washington, DC, sponsored by The South Jersey Holocaust Coalition, will take place on Thursday, February 27. Additional support for this trip, which is open to the public, is provided by Jewish Federation of Cumberland, Gloucester & Salem Counties.
The bus will be leaving the Luciano Conference & Events Center at Rowan College of South Jersey – Cumberland (formerly Cumberland County College), 3322 College Dr., Vineland, at 8 a.m. sharp. Those going should arrive no later than 7:30 a.m. The bus will return to the college by approximately 9 p.m.
Space is limited. Those wishing to register must send a $45 non-refundable check, payable to Jewish Federation, and sent to Jewish Federation, 1015 E. Park Ave., Suite B. Vineland, NJ 08360. Please include “Bus Trip” on the check memo line. Reservations will be on a first-come, first-served basis upon receipt of the check only.
The National Museum of African American History and Culture is the only national museum devoted exclusively to the documentation of African American life, history, and culture. It was established by Act of Congress in 2003, following decades of efforts to promote and highlight the contributions of African Americans. To date, the Museum has collected more than 36,000 artifacts and nearly 100,000 individuals have become members. The Museum opened to the public on September 24, 2016, as the 19th and newest museum of the Smithsonian Institution.
