A Message From The Borough Of Glassboro And The Office Of Emergency Management
The Borough of Glassboro understands that our residents are concerned about the coronavirus (COVID-19). We want to assure our residents that we share your concerns, which is why we are diligently working with state and federal health officials to provide you with the most current and accurate information. We will continue to keep you updated as more information is provided. We will not post information obtained from television, radio or other media until it is confirmed by official sources. For updated information, please continue to visit the official Glassboro website as well as the state and federal links provided.
Due to CDC recommendations, employee safety, and heightened concern surrounding the COVID-19 coronavirus, the following solid waste services will have minor impacts until further notice.
- Residential trash WILL be collected and recycling WILL be collected according to normal schedule including additional bags of trash or recycling that will be collected outside of the cart.
- Yard waste including grass, leaves, and sticks (only if bagged in paper bags or containers) WILL be collected every other week as capabilities allow us to do so. Curbside yard waste recycling, while convenient, is not considered a threat to life, limb, or property.
- Metals, appliances, and electronics WILL NOT be collected at this time.
These safety measures are in line with CDC recommendations and heightened concern surrounding the COVID-19 coronavirus. The Borough will continue to monitor the situation and make any service changes necessary.
Efforts to social distance employees and reduce exposure to materials that could have been exposed to the virus are vital in making our decisions. Solid Waste employees have been instructed not to leave their vehicle to collect anything additional beyond what residents have thrown in the carts.
