Wine, Cheese, and Chocolates Galore at Bellview Winery
It’s said that a glass of wine a day is good for the heart, so if a commitment to health will take you anywhere, let it take you to Bellview Winery. Tucked away in the Landisville region of Buena in Atlantic County, the historic Bellview Winery is located on soil that its founding family—the Quarella’s—has been farming for over a century. Bellview Winery evolved from a 20-acre farm originally purchased by Italian immigrants and has since become a notable destination for wine lovers across the country and abroad. Offering over two dozen wines, this South Jersey mainstay insists that they have a bottle for everyone: from the picky wine enthusiast to the casual taster.
To see what New Jersey wine is all about, visit Bellview Winery’s 50 acres of vineyards, where each vine is tended by hand throughout the year. This fine attention to detail is responsible for producing 21 varietals of wine grapes exclusively cultivated on the grounds. Bellview generates over 8000 cases of wine per year, including white, red, fruit, and specialty wines such as a Port and an ice style wine. Unique to Bellview Winery is their signature Dandelion wine, made from an old Quarella family recipe that dates back several generations.
The Bellview property, consisting of a tasting room and a winery, was converted from an old barn on the original 20-acre homestead. Visitors can relax with a glass in the picnic area, do yoga in the vineyard, or enjoy a cigar from their humidor. The spacious lawn area, overlooking the farm and vineyard, is the perfect place to enjoy a wine flight and cheese board. In their indoor space, Bellview hosts a number of events, including their Seafood Festival, Harvest Party, and Italian Festival. The winery can also host private events, craft a custom gift basket or label, and more. A bonus for guests: the grounds of the winery are pet friendly, so furry friends are encouraged so long as they are leashed and well behaved.
When you’re feeling hungry, Bellview serves up an assortment of nibbles, from specialty sweet and dry pairings to select cheeses, meats, and olives—the perfect accompaniments to a glass of wine. The Light Fare menu includes spinach & artichoke dip, French brie, and assorted charcuterie boards.
The winery is open 7 days a week: 10am to 5pm on Sunday to Thursday and 10am to 8pm on Friday and Saturday. For $8 guests can sample Bellview’s wine flights which include four preselected wines that change weekly, along with crackers to cleanse your palate. The winery also offers tours of the property for a more elevated experience priced at $20 per person. Under current Department of Health guidelines, tour groups are limited to a maximum of eight people. In accordance with these guidelines, guests are also required to wear a face covering. As of June 15th, the winery is open for outdoor dining where visitors can enjoy a glass of wine in the fresh air. Bellview will also be hosting live entertainment during weekends for the rest of the summer. From 4-8pm on Friday and Saturday, the winery will have a rotating food truck and musician on stage.
