WEDDINGS ON THE AVE RETURNS TO DOWNTOWN VINELAND IN NOVEMBER
Month-Long Celebration of The Ave’s Wedding-Related Businesses
Organized by Main Street Vineland
Sponsored by Al’s Shoes
Brides and grooms will want to head to downtown Vineland this month before tying the knot for Weddings on The Ave, a month-long celebration of the many wedding-related businesses that The Ave has to offer.
Organized by Main Street Vineland and sponsored by Al’s Shoes, Weddings on The Ave spotlights stores for formal wear, gowns and dresses, shoes, jewelry, photographers, dry cleaning, and more that make The Ave a real destination for all wedding needs.
“This is the opportunity for brides and grooms to find their wedding needs in one downtown area,” said Main Street Vineland Executive Director Russell Swanson. Our downtown—The Ave—has long been a destination for couples preparing to get married and we have showcased our wedding-related businesses over the years. Weddings on The Ave highlights the services for which brides and grooms are looking.”
Main Street Vineland Associate Director and Business Development Director Robert Scarpa sees Weddings on The Ave as another way that makes downtown Vineland special.
“The Ave has several business clusters, with our wedding business cluster being one of our largest. Our previous downtown bridal events have been successful and this should be no exception,” he said.
It started with Downtown Wedding Weekend nine years ago—a wedding shopping extravaganza right in our downtown. We expanded the concept two years ago to make the event a full bridal show, complete with a fashion show and wedding-related vendors. Prospective brides and grooms from throughout the area came and made those events a tremendous success.
“We discovered, however, that our wedding-related businesses got just as much attention and promotion through a media campaign—social, print, and online—as well as word-of-mouth, so we retooled the promotion last year and we are doing the same this year,” said Brian Lankin, owner of Al’s Shoes, which has sponsored the wedding event from its inception. Lankin is also chairperson of Main Street Vineland’s Board of Directors.
“We put out there all the wedding-related businesses on The Ave and are encouraging people to check them out and see all that they have to offer,” Lankin said.
Scarpa sees this as just one part of making downtown Vineland a true destination.
“Our aim has been to make The Ave that great place for shopping, dining, entertainment, working, and living,” Scarpa said. A great example of this is the array of services we offer to the bride and groom. The response has been specular for this promotion, so come and see for yourself!”
