“VOICES ON A SUNDAY AFTERNOON” CLOSES FALL PROGRAM SEASON AT RICHWOOD ACADEMY CULTURAL CENTER

Rowan University’s Opera Company closes out the Harrison Township Historical Society’s Fall program series with an exciting and diverse program of vocal music on Sunday, December 4, 2022, 3 pm, in the historic Richwood Academy Cultural Center.
“Voices on a Sunday Afternoon” features members of the ensemble performing art songs and works from the opera and musical theater repertoire under the direction of Marian Stieber.
Professor Stieber is Coordinator of the Vocal Division of the University’s College of Performing Arts and is herself a distinguished performer. A lyric soprano, she is highly regarded for her artistry and interpretive style. Her students have won awards at the state and national levels and have gone on to perform professionally in the classical and musical theater fields.
The Opera Company has earned an enviable reputation for its artistry. Each Spring Stieber and her students mount a fully staged opera. Productions have included Carmen, The Magic Flute and Die Fledermaus, to name a few.
Built in 1870, the Academy provides an intimate and charming setting for this salon-type concert and is located at 836 Lambs Road, Richwood, NJ. There is no admission fee; free tickets are available online at the Harrison Township Historical Society’s public Facebook page. The Society is also currently featuring a new exhibition at Old Town Hall Museum, 62 South Main St., Mullica Hill, commemorating the one-year anniversary of the tornado the tore through Gloucester County in 2021. Described as “history worth seeing while you have the chance,” “Tornado” is currently on view Saturdays and Sundays, 1-4 PM through December 4, 2022, and there is no admission charge.
