Crafty Campout

2018 BADGE WORKSHOPS!

Spend a fun – filled overnight retreat at Appel Farm that includes a nature scavenger hunt, a campfire, s’mores and an ice cream sundae party!  And now we have added four new badges to our programming: Dance, Staying Fit, and the Outdoor Art Creator and Explorer Badges! Friday, April 6, 6pm, to Saturday, April 7, 2:30pm: BROWNIES! Earn your POTTERS and your PAINTERS badge. JUNIORS! Earn your DRAWING and your JEWELRY badge. Saturday, April 7, 6pm, to Sunday, April 8, 2:30pm: BROWNIES! Earn your DANCE and your OUTDOOR ART CREATOR badge. JUNIORS! Earn your STAYING FIT and your OUTDOOR ART EXPLORER badge. Or stay for two nights! Scouts who stay for  two nights will earn a special Appel Farm Artist Badge by participating in an an Iron Designer Technical Theatre Challenge! and enjoy a Saturday evening pizza party! (The weekend begins at 6pm on Friday night and ends on Sunday at 2:30pm.) Read more about our special Appel Farm Artist Badge here.

HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE OVERNIGHT INCLUDE:

  • Arrive Friday night at 6pm and settle into your cozy dormitory style room which features a fully equipped indoor bathroom and mattressed bunkbeds. All you need is a sleeping bag and pillow! Programming begins at 7:30pm (with a scavenger hunt) or if you are running late, 8pm (with a campfire.)
  • A campfire, complete with campfire skits, songs and s’mores.
  • Saturday and Sunday mornings: wake up to breakfast, followed by morning badge workshops and lunch.
  • After lunch, the overnight concludes with an Achievement Ceremony and an ice cream sundae party!
  • Only $75 per scout and $35 per chaperone! Reserve by March 9th and receive a $5 discount (That’s only $70 per scout! Discount does not apply to chaperones.) All inclusive pricing includes accommodations, 2 meals, s’mores, ice cream, and all workshop materials. (Cost for both nights: $150 per scout, $70 per chaperone. Early registration discount: $140 per scout.)
  • Chaperone/Girl Ratio:  Brownies:  1:6 and Juniors: 1:8 – one additional chaperone for each additional 8 girls. Note: If a troop requires a second room due to the number of girls within the troop, two additional chaperones will be required, per Volunteer Essential guidelines.
