Angela Seri Krukauskas Is A Winner Where It Counts Most!

For establishing a local food pantry out of her home and bringing joy to children and families during the holiday season, Egg Harbor City’s Angela Seri Krukauskas was named New Jersey’s Heartland Hero for February of 2019 and a Finalist in this year’s Press of Atlantic City’s Giving Back Award.
Thanks to all of her New Jersey’s Heartland supporters, Angela was one of only two finalists to receive over 1,500 votes while taking a close second place in the award voting that recognizes civic-minded people like Angela who live in New Jersey’s Heartland.
Angela’s charitable work began with a simple donation food box in front of her home and an accompanying sign that read, “Take a blessing if you need one, leave a blessing if you can.” Her homemade food pantry was soon overflowing and, come the holidays, gifts began arriving to help brighten Christmas for children in the area. This past September, thanks to Angela, over 125 students had filled backpacks to return to school. She also kept the holiday giving tradition alive last December, collecting gifts for more than 100 families.
While New Jersey’s Heartland is filled with hidden gems, its biggest treasures are the people who make the region a great place to live, work, play, and raise a family. All Heartland Heroes receive a Heartland Heroes Certificate and Gift Basket in recognition of their award.
