David Johnson Vice President of Inspira Health’s Innovation Center Joins State of the County Panel
David Johnson, is the Vice President of Inspira Health’s, Innovation Center. He is responsible for managing an innovation fund to explore internal innovative concepts, investment of seed funding in startups, and development of collaborative partnerships. Since announcing the center in October of 2017, Inspira has built a dedicated maker space at the South Jersey Technology Park at Rowan University. The space houses a patient room of the future, where Inspira can run patient simulation for training clinical staff, explore new technology for efficiency, technology to enhance the patient experience and convenience, and demonstrate transitions of care from an in-patient hospital stay back to a patients home for further recovery.
Also in October of 2017, Inspira Innovations opened its new Inspira Health+ locations, as South Jersey’s first health technology bars. Patients, visitors, and Inspira physicians/staffs can visit these locations to learn more about the latest My Inspira, Access and eCare (telehealth) app developments as well as how smart technology and health are becoming even more integrated. Inspira Health+ supports the Inspira C.O.A.C. H. (post discharge) Program, PREP Program (Physician Referred Exercise Program) and the Population Health departments, as they introduce technology to patients managing chronic illness such as Congestive Heart Failure, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, and Diabetes. In addition to Health+, Mr. Johnson is managing a robust portfolio of innovation projects.
Prior to leading the Inspira Innovation efforts, Mr. Johnson applied his Six Sigma Black Belt and LEAN credentials to driving operations improvement and managing Inspira’s team of internal consultants since 2005, and Temple University Health’s performance improvement team for 5 year prior to joining Inspira.
Mr. Johnson is a United States Navy Veteran, has his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University, and his advanced graduate degree from Saint Joseph University School of Business.
