Dorothy and Toto Say, “There’s No Place Like Salem!”
We’re off to see the Wizard, and we don’t even have to click our heels together three times to get there!
On the first two weekends in August, just follow the yellow brick road to the Davidow Theater at Salem Community College for the Oakwood Summer Theatre’s production of The Wizard of Oz. The curtain goes up at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays, August 3 and 10, and Saturdays, August 4 and 11, for the stage version of the Classic Motion Picture owned by Turner Entertainment Company and distributed by Warner Brothers.

This beloved tale has been entertaining audiences for generations with such hits as “Over the Rainbow,” “We’re Off to See The Wizard,” “If I Had Only Had a Brain” and more. The production, which was adapted by John Kane for the Royal Shakespeare Company, features Music and Lyrics by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg, Background Music by Herbert Stothart, Dance and Vocal Arrangements by Peter Howard and Orchestration by Larry Wilcox.
Hammonton Peach Party
Before you head off to the Emerald City in Salem in August, you can follow the path to the other side of New Jersey’s Heartland, where they are painting their town Peach.
On Saturday, July 28, 2018, Downtown Hammonton will be staging its 6th Annual Peach Party from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Located in the Vine Street parking lot, across from the Eagle Theatre, the party will feature all things Peach, including bushels of peach activities, peach-inspired foods, and more.
