DOROTHY SNYDER
My Sisters’ Kids is an organization based in Millville whose mission is to support kids in Gloucester, Cumberland, and Salem County who have suffered the loss of a loved one. The organization provides a place where children, teens, young adults and their families can share their experiences.
My Sisters’ Kids was inspired by the personal experience of its founder, Dorothy Snyder. Dorothy witnessed the grief her nieces and nephews endured when two of her sisters passed away leaving their children behind. Unable to find a place where the children could express their grief and be with others who were experiencing the same kind of loss, she created My Sisters’ Kids.
My Sisters’ Kids is a non-profit program for children in New Jersey’s Heartland, and their services are free to families. Dorothy serves as Executive Director, volunteering her time to the organization. She also works as the Business Administrator for Cumberland County Community Church in Millville.
For her tireless efforts and contributions to children within New Jersey’s Heartland, we are proud to name Dorothy Snyder a Heartland Hero.
