This award-wining drama is a complex, often metaphorical and symbolic examination of AIDS and homosexuality in America in the 1980s. Major and minor characters also appear as angels or ghosts as characters interact, and plotlines intersect surrounding two couples in Manhattan, one gay and one straight.
