Bankers and Realtors Round Table

Sponsored by TD Bank the Cumberland County Bankers and Realtors Roundtable is one of Cumberland County’s premier networking events. There will be several speakers talking about the current business climate and what is shaping the future of Southern, New Jersey’s economy. The event is free, and breakfast is included. Marie Mascherin COO of New Jersey Community Capital to give update on Opportunity Zones
Marie is responsible for management of NJCC’s lending operations, community strategies/investments, and residential mortgage platform. She has 30+ years’ experience in banking and real estate finance, having held positions at Midlantic National Bank (now PNC) and GMAC Commercial Mortgage (now Berkadia). Ms. Mascherin is a member of Community Reinvestment Fund’s New Jersey Advisory Board, PNC’s South Jersey Advisory Board, and board member of American Repertory Ballet/Princeton Ballet School. Ms. Mascherin holds an MBA from New York University and a BS in Finance from Seton Hall University. She is a graduate of the Achieving Excellence in Community Development fellowship program at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
Marie will present on the new Federal Opportunity Zone program. Opportunity Zones were created as a provision in the Federal Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017. Investors who invest in projects within the zones can see deferral of capital gains if held in a Qualified Opportunity Fund. Cumberland County has five census tracts designated as opportunity zones. Located in Millville, Vineland, and Bridgeton each zone is unique in what investment opportunities are available. The event will be on May 3, 2019 from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Cumberland County College.
