Doug Balliett, Charlotte Mundy and the Ovid Players

Ms. Mundy leads off with a set of songs including works by Schubert, Dowland, Joni Mitchell, and The Beatles. “The Daughters of King Minyas”: a triptych of three interlocking rap cantatas by Doug Balliett, drawn from book IV of Ovid’s Metamorphoses, explores the tragic stories of Pyramus and Thisbe, Clytie, and Hermaphroditus, all told through the eyes of the Daughters of King Minyas.
