Preserving Local Heirloom Foods

April 22, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm EDT
Join us to Celebrate Earth Day with a talk from Artist Jeff Quattrone:

A relaxing conversation about local heirloom foods with Jeff Quattrone, founder of the Library Seed Bank

Join Jeff Quattrone, founder of the Library Seed Bank, for a relaxed conversation about local heirloom foods, and the value of preserving local food biodiversity. Jeff is the co-chair of Slow Food USA’s Ark of Taste Northeast Regional Committee. The Ark of Taste is an international living catalogue of local foods that are under appreciated, at risk or endangered with extinction. Jeff is also a heirloom seed activist who brought the Seed Library concept to southern NJ in 2014. He’s an artist who creates propaganda posters about food sovereignty, as a homage to the Victory Garden Series produced by the US government during WWI and WWII. For more information, please visit, www.libraryseedbank.info.

**Seed packets will be offered of the Jenny Lind Melon, a local variety of a sweet green muskmelon.
