SUMMARY:A Light Touch: A Simple Approach to Portraits
DESCRIPTION:David Todd McCarty is known for his portrait and fashion images\, but his work is most often recognized for his beautiful use of light and his simple compositions. McCarty argues that what makes his work unique is his simple approach to his subjects. “People think photography has to be complicated to be good. That’s almost never true.” \nMcCarty will discuss his approach to using basic lighting techniques to achieve beautiful portraits. From using indirect sunlight\, to photographing portraits using a single light. Also he will touch on how important post processing is to what people refer to as “his use of light.” \nHe will end with how this applies to his work as an international award winning commercial director and how he has learned to do more with less. Register here.

SUMMARY:Pinelands Imagery + Shoot the Light Presentations
DESCRIPTION:Albert’s presentation will be about the value of doing a monograph and will be based on his experiences of photographing the New Jersey Pinelands National Reserve over the last 11 plus years. This endeavored has led to a book published in 2015\, Pineland Imagery\, many speaking opportunities\, and exhibits of his work. Albert’s work has also raised awareness on the need to preserve this masterpiece of nature. \nGlatzer’s presentation is guided by his underlying belief that success in any photographic discipline is largely characterized by the ability to see and understand the quality\, quantity\, and other physical properties of light and how they relate to your subject and capture medium. He will give you the knowledge and tools you need to take control of your imagery and produce wildlife photographs that are a cut above. Emphasis will be placed on the five key ingredients that are paramount to consistently producing successful imagery in the digital world : knowing the fundamentals\, familiarity with your equipment\, being pro-active\, knowing your subject\, and knowing your way around the digital darkroom. You will walk away from this program with a renewed sense of confidence and a new mindset that will enable you to consistently produce creative\, well exposed\, and provocative story telling images.
