SUMMARY:Steal Your Peach
DESCRIPTION:Steal Your Peach \nMarch 31\, 2023 at 8PM | Broadway Theatre of Pitman \nWe are thrilled to announce Steal Your Peach is debuting at The Broadway Theatre of Pitman! Steal Your Peach is the ultimate Rock band in the area fusing the music of The Allman Brothers Band and The Grateful Dead! \nThey are a mixture of some of hardest working musicians in the Philadelphia area including members or former members of Live at The Fillmore\, Tom Hamilton’s American Babies\, Dead on Live\, Rainbow Full of Sound\, Splintered Sunlight and more\, specializing in a mashup concept\, fusing the music of The Allman Brothers Band and The Grateful Dead. \nEach of us has multiple projects currently both original and not\, but have formed a bond here with some of our favorite and most influential music\, paying close attention to detail of all of the original music\, while also adding our own improv to the mix making each show unique and exciting\, and to create a very tangible symbiotic experience between the band and the listeners. There is nothing like coming back to pay homage to the music that inspired us all to play. \nClick HERE to get your tickets now! \nNew Jersey’s Heartland | Atlantic County\, Cumberland County\, Gloucester County\, Salem County

SUMMARY:Twitty & Lynn- A Salute to Conway & Loretta
DESCRIPTION:Twitty & Lynn- A Salute to Conway & Loretta \nMarch 31\, 2023 @8:00 PM \nTayla Lynn and Tre Twitty have country music in their blood. The grandchildren of famed duo Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty\, the two have taken to the road to honor their grandparents in an intimate evening of music and storytelling. Tayla Lynn and Tre Twitty have seen great success with their Tribute to Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty; going into their second year together\, the duo already has at least two dozen tour dates set throughout much of North America and Canada. \nThrough their memories of Memaw and Poppy\, as they call their grandparents\, the show takes on the quality of a family get together\, and it often feels more like one is on the front porch with guitars and old family hymns than it does a concert. It is a fascinating opportunity to see two of country musics greatest legends through their grandchildren’s eyes. The high-energy\, heartfelt show highlights not only the bond Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty had as best friends and musical partners\, but the unique bond Tayla and Tre have formed through years of an intertwined family history and their own musical relationship. \nClick HERE to get your tickets!

SUMMARY:Jim Messina at Levoy Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Jim Messina at Levoy Theatre \nApril 16\, 2023 @7:00 PM \nAn undisputed expert in the fine art of making hit music\, Jim Messina’s legacy of musical genius spans five decades\, three super groups\, a vibrant solo career and scores of producing and engineering credits. \nWhile acting as producer/audio engineer for Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Buffalo Springfield\, Messina ultimately joined the band as its bass player. When “the Springfield” disbanded in 1968\, Jim and fellow bandmate Richie Furay formed Poco. With Jim on lead guitar\, Poco defined a new musical genre\, Country Rock. After three successful albums\, Jim was ready for a change and left to return to his passion for producing music. He signed as an independent producer with Columbia Records. \nIn November 1970\, the Columbia asked Jim to work with an unknown Kenny Loggins. While helping Kenny get ready for a record and touring\, the two discovered that they worked well together and Jim agreed to sit in on Kenny’s first album. Kenny Loggins with Jim Messina Sittin’ In was released in November of 1971 and an accidental duo was formed. \nOver the next seven years\, Loggins & Messina released eight hit albums\, had scores of hit songs and sold over 16 million albums. They had become one of rock’s most successful recording duos ever\, but it was time for the duo to go their separate ways. \nAfter a series of celebrated solo acoustic tours\, Jim formed a band made of acclaimed musicians who have played with him at various points in his career. His latest release\, In the Groove\, includes selected hits from all three of Jim’s previous bands\, as well as several of his solo works. \nTouring the country and playing sold-out shows\, Jim says that he’s enjoying discovering who he is\, where he’s been and\, most significantly\, where he’s going. \nClick HERE to get your tickets! \nNew Jersey’s Heartland | Atlantic County\, Cumberland County\, Gloucester County\, Salem County

SUMMARY:A Street Car Named Desire
DESCRIPTION:A Street Car Named Desire By Tennessee Williams | The Road Company\, Grand Theater \nMarch 12-26\, 2023 \nThis classic\, Pulitzer Prize winning play reveals to the very depths the character of Blanche DuBois\, a woman whose life has been undermined by her romantic illusions\, which lead her to reject—so far as possible—the realities of life with which she is faced and which she consistently ignores. The pressure brought to bear upon her by her sister\, with whom she goes to live in New Orleans\, intensified by the earthy and extremely “normal” young husband of the latter\, leads to a revelation of her tragic self-delusion and\, in the end\, to madness. You won’t want to miss this amazing\, famous\, tragic tale. \nClick HERE to get your tickets now! \nNew Jersey’s Heartland | Atlantic County\, Cumberland County\, Gloucester County\, Salem County

SUMMARY:Dar Williams at Levoy Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Dar Williams at Levoy Theatre \nMarch 10\, 2023 @8:00 PM \nClick HERE to get your tickets. \nDar Williams’ lyrics contain bouquets of optimism\, delivered on melodies alternating between beguiling lightness and understated gravity. Williams strongly believes that all of us possess our own power and ability to achieve\, and she rejects the exceptionalism that encourages us to “admire that yonder star\,” while making us feel small and insignificant; unworthy of shining on our own but hoping to catch enough distant light to inspire some tiny accomplishment. Williams has always been very interested in how to control our future and this album has to do with the fact that at some point\, you just can’t. \nLike everyone else\, Williams spent 2020 in that state of non-control. She and longtime producer Stewart Lerman tracked most of the album\, her 12th studio recording\, in November of 2019. In late February of 2020\, she cut the title tune in Woodstock with bassist Gail Ann Dorsey and Larry Campbell\, who produced the track and played guitars\, pedal steel and twangy baritone guitar. When told they had to postpone a mid-March mixing date\, Campbell said he wasn’t feeling well anyway. Turns out he’d contracted a serious case of COVID-19. That was a clear sign that at some point\, you have to meet life where it meets you …the common thread throughout that these songs\, the willingness to meet life as it arrives. \nDar Williams was always in the right place at the right time for the success she’s had over a 25+-year career. She rose out of the vibrant mid-90’s Boston scene\, inspired by the eclectic influences of alt-rockers\, Berklee jazz musicians\, slam poets\, and folk artists\, like Patty Griffith\, Melissa Ferrick\, the Throwing Muses\, Vance Gilbert\, and Jonatha Brooke. After a year of touring non-stop with her first album\, The Honesty Room\, in 1994\, she was invited by Joan Baez to tour in Europe and The United States. \n“Good and bad things happen\, and it’s not necessarily a reward or indictment. I’ve just got to meet it.” Williams observes. “Like\, I’m bringing my whole life to this moment; it will surprise me\, challenge me\, show me where I was wrong\, even make a fool out of me\, but my job is to show up and not take adversity personally. Real happiness doesn’t have to feel like Snoopy dancing with Woodstock; it can just be knowing you have the resilience to meet whatever comes to you. I will call that a good life.” \nVance Gilbert\n“If Joni Mitchell and Richie Havens had a love child\, with Rodney Dangerfield as the midwife\, the results might have been something close to the great Vance Gilbert.” As the above quote from Richmond magazine suggests\, Vance Gilbert defies stereotypes. It’s little wonder then that he also exceeds expectations. In this case\, those two qualities go hand in hand. “I’m black\, I sing\, I play an acoustic guitar\, and I don’t play the blues\,” Gilbert insists. That may be a broad statement\, but it rings with truth. \nWhat he does do is make memorable music\, as evidenced by the 13 albums he’s released so far\, as well as the mark he’s made on the folk and acoustic music scenes in general. Over the course of a prolific career that extends back to the early ’90s\, he’s recorded with his good friend Ellis Paul and shared stages worldwide with Aretha Franklin\, Shawn Colvin\, Arlo Guthrie\, the Milk Carton Kids\, George Carlin (150+ shows)\, Anita Baker\, the Subdudes\, Paul Reiser and any number of others.
