SUMMARY:Suningive House Tour Sunday
DESCRIPTION:Take a tour of the historic home of Suningive\, designed and built for Elizabeth C. White\, the “Blueberry Queen.” The home has been preserved and slowly restored with the help of the Whitesbog Preservation Trust. This beautiful Craftsman home constructed in 1923 has unusual features and hidden treasures\, unique fixtures and woodwork\, garage and porches with 2nd and 3rd story views out over the cranberry bogs\, her native pine barrens botanical garden\, pond and woodland trails. \nThe tour is conducted by Whitesbog Archivist\, Kiyomi Locker. Tickets are $5 which are a direct donation to the Archives funding\, which is located inside the house. The event will be from 12-4\, with tours running throughout that time period. Visitors are encouraged to take pictures! We are a friendly historic home where you can drink a beverage\, bring a child or even a four-legged friend! We even have a bathroom and heat! We will have some coffee\, hot tea and cookies available if you would like some. This is not a lecture tour\, we are happy to answer questions and appeal to your interests\, so feel free to ask away! You are welcome to sit on the couch or in a living room or kitchen chair\, we really want you to feel comfortable. \nLast tour begins at 3:30 pm. Please allow time to park in the village and walk down the sandy trail/road to the house\, as the circle driveway of the house only holds a handful of vehicles. Parking at the house should be reserved for visitors with mobility limitations (please feel free to use it or drop off visitors with any mobility challenges!). The house has three stories and two steps to the front door but there are also exhibits throughout the first floor and images of upper floor exhibits available. The General Store will be open for visitors as well (10 am – 4 pm each weekend day). \n
