SUMMARY:27th ANNUAL CRUISE DOWN MEMORY LANE
DESCRIPTION:A Tradition of Over a Quarter Century \nVINELAND\, NJ—Millions of dollars worth of vintage and exotic cars will again line Landis Avenue as Cruise Down Memory Lane returns to downtown Vineland—The Ave—on Saturday\, June 9\, from 5 to 9 p.m. The rain date will be Sunday\, June 10\, from 2 to 5 p.m. \nMain Street Vineland will be organizing this annual Vineland tradition\, now in its 27th year\, which is being coordinated by the Cruise Down Memory Lane Committee. \nThis event attracts almost 2\,000 American cars—over one mile of cars—and is open to street rods\, muscle cars\, stock or custom classics\, rat rods\, and cruisers. \nThe gates will open at 5 p.m. at West Avenue and East Avenue and all participating vehicles must enter through the gate. At 6:30 p.m.\, the gates will close and cars will remain parked for display. No cruising will take place after the event ends at 9 p.m.\, and all traffic laws will be enforced. The event is open to American marque cars only. They must be 1974 or older\, unless it is a highly modified late-model or a car entering with a legitimate car club. No motorcycles\, bikes\, foreign cars\, or partially-primed vehicles will be allowed. Period correct cars are allowed upon approval. Admission is subject to the Cruise Down Memory Lane staging and gate personnel. Ineligible vehicles will be towed away at the owner’s expense. No special parking arrangements and no alcoholic beverages will be allowed. Any car club entry must enter the gates with their club. \n“Thousands of people—classic car buffs and people just out to have some fun—all love this longtime Vineland tradition which brings back the days of ‘cruisin’ The Ave\,” said Main Street Vineland Executive Director Russell Swanson. “We’re proud of this event—which has been going strong for over a quarter of a century and which draws people to Vineland from all over and make our downtown a true summer destination for fun events.” \nFor more information on the event\, call Marv at (856) 697-6306 until June 8 or\, the day at the show at 856-200-1450. You can also call the Main Street Vineland office at 856-794-8653. \nInformation on all Main Street Vineland events can also be obtained by visiting the organization’s website at www.TheAve.biz or visiting it on Facebook.

SUMMARY:Founders Day in Downtown Vineland
DESCRIPTION:Beginning of Transition Before Move to Palace of Depression Grounds in 2019 \nFounder’s Day\, the annual iconic salute to Vineland’s heritage sponsored by the Friends of Historic Vineland for the past 20 years\, will be making a move this year. \nThe event\, a mainstay of Vineland’s spring events calendar\, will be held on Saturday\, May 19\, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.\, rain or shine\, at Landis MarketPlace\, 631 E. Landis Ave. All events will be on the upper level of the building. \nAfter 15 years of being held at the Elwyn School grounds\, the event begins a new era in anticipation of its 2019 permanent move to the Palace of Depression grounds on Mill Road. \nThe traditional celebratory schedule for the day will remain\, but with a new and different look. The size and scope is changed\, allowing for the expansion of the mission of teaching local history to new generations. \nSome favorite elements of Founder’s Day will be remaining—Civil War and Vineland history re-enactors\, telling stories and family games with Games By Sam—plus\, hometown arts with Magnolia Hill Studios\, select food vendors with plenty of eating space\, and free parking. \nNew this year will be a special guest—strolling illusionist and interactive family fun with Bill Kirwood. More exciting new features include an ongoing slideshow PowerPoint presentation telling The Founder’s Story\, including the founding of Vineland\, the mission of the Friends of Historic Vineland\, a preview of the restored Palace of Depression and Museum—the future long-term home of Founder’s Day beginning in 2019—and Vineland: Then and Now. \n“What a way for Main Street Vineland to join with the Friends of Historic Vineland to celebrate Charles K. Landis’s vision of a wide avenue to be the centerpiece of his model town!” said Main Street Vineland Executive Director Russell Swanson. “We urge everyone to come out to celebrate Vineland and celebrate our downtown by coming out to Founder’s Day on The Ave.” \nFor more information on Founder’s Day\, please call 856-205-9334. \nFor more information on all Main Street Vineland programs and events\, please call 856-794-8653\, visit the organization’s website at www.TheAve.biz\, or visit the organization’s Facebook page.
