SUMMARY:The Rat Pack Returns
DESCRIPTION:The Rat Pack Returns\n6/7/2018 6:30pm\nDinner & Show (Dinner provided by Columbia II Restaurant & Catering)\nhttps://www.kathedral.com/event/1611601-rat-pack-returns-hammonton/ \nKathedral Event Center\n499 S Egg Harbor Rd\nHammonton\, NJ 08037 \nLifelong Sinatra fans have been fascinated when they hear Tony Sands start to croon. They think ‘Old Blue Eyes’ has come back to life. For more than 20 years\, Tony Sands has been perfecting his act\, and wooing audiences all over the United States. Sands caught the Sinatra bug as a child growing up in South Philly. “When I was 12 or 13 years old\, that’s when I first wanted to sing\,” Sands says. “My family played Sinatra records all the time\, and I started singing along. The next thing I knew\, I just fell in love with his music…and here I am.” His silky\, mesmerizing\, and tantalizing rendition of the ‘Chairman of the Board’s’ style\, has caught the eye of the entertainment community\, and audiences from around the country. Tony has performed at many Manhattan restaurants\, Zanzibar Blue Jazz Club in Philadelphia\, The Ritz Carlton Hotel in Philadelphia\, The Harvard Club in New York City\, and The Breakers Hotel\, just to name a select few. During the winter months\, Tony performs at various venues in Florida\, such as Country Clubs\, to standing ovations every night. Tony’s impressive resume includes performances at Tropicana Casino & Resort\, Trump Castle & Casino\, and Harrah’s Hotel & Casino\, all in Atlantic City. His performances in Reno\, Nevada at the Eldorado Resort Casino have been sold out\, time after time. Tony has also made multiple television appearances up and down the east coast. ‘Rat Pack Together Again\,’ is a widespread favorite show that Tony produced in 2010. His portrayal of ‘The Legend\,’ in this revue is ‘spot on!’ Tony’s most current production is a never before seen musical journey about the life and times of the late Frank Sinatra called\, ‘It Was A Very Good Year\,’ starring Tony Sands as ‘The Voice.’ This production includes all of Tony’s best loved songs\, as well as Sinatra’s! From the early days with Tommy Dorsey\, to the bright lights of New York City\, and the silver screen of Hollywood\, leading up to Sinatra’s ‘Main Event’ comeback\, this one of a kind musical tribute to the late Frank Sinatra is a ‘Must See!’ Tony captivates his audiences with the mannerisms\, illusion\, and romance that have made him one of the most popular entertainers around. ‘Luck Be A Lady’ is one of Tony’s favorite Sinatra tune.

SUMMARY:The Paul Thorn Band

The title track borrows its tag from a familiar saying among the members of the African-American Baptist churches Thorn frequented in his childhood. “I’d ask\, ‘How you doin’\, sister?’ And what I’d often hear back was\, ‘I’m too blessed to be stressed.’” In the hands of Thorn and his faithful band\, who’ve been together 20 years\, the tune applies its own funky balm\, interlacing a percolating drum and keyboard rhythm with the slinky guitar lines beneath his playful banter. \nThorn’s trademark humor is abundant throughout the album on Perpetual Obscurity/Thirty Tigers. “Backslide on Friday” is a warm-spirited poke at personal foibles. “I promised myself not to write about me\, but I did on ‘Backslide\,’” Thorn relates. The chipper pop tune is a confession about procrastination\, sweetened by Bill Hinds’ slide guitar and Thorn’s gently arching melody. “But\,” Thorn protests\, “I know I’m not the only one who says he’s gonna diet and just eat Blue Bell vanilla ice cream on Sundays\, and then ends up eating it every day!”

SUMMARY:Arlo Guthrie RE:Generation Tour
DESCRIPTION:Doors: 6:30pm\nRuntime: TBD\nWebsite: Arlo Guthrie\nPremium seating is available. Premium prices include a $20 donation to the Theatre.\nThe Vaudeville Bar will open and begin serving at 6:30pm.\nThe prices shown above do not include any ticketing or service fees. \n\nArlo Guthrie’s father Woody hoped one day to have enough kids to form a family band\, traveling the country and singing their songs together – Generations. The Re:Generation tour is the spirit of an American family making music together. Arlo’s children Abe and Sarah Lee will be joining their dad to present music of the Guthrie Generations.  \nArlo Guthrie Bio: \n“THE ROAD CONTINUES TO BECKON AND THE KIDS\, WITH KIDS OF THEIR OWN\, ARE HEARING THE CALL OF THEIR OWN THOUGHTS. ONWARD!” ~ ARLO \nArlo Guthrie has been known to generations as a prolific songwriter\, social commentator\, master storyteller\, actor and activist. Born in Coney Island\, New York in 1947\, Arlo is the eldest son of Marjorie Mazia Guthrie\, a professional dancer with the Martha Graham Company and founder of The Committee to Combat Huntington’s Disease\, and America’s most beloved singer/writer/ philosopher/artist Woody Guthrie. Arlo has become an iconic figure in folk music in his own right with a distinguished and varied career spanning over fifty years. \nGrowing up Guthrie\, Arlo was surrounded by such renowned artists as Pete Seeger\, Lee Hays\, Ronnie Gilbert\, Sonny Terry\, Brownie McGhee\, and Ramblin’ Jack Elliott to name only a few. Not surprisingly\, Arlo drew from these influences and he in turn became a delineative artist bridging generations of folk. He and Pete Seeger created a legendary collaboration that was sustained for over forty years. The last Pete & Arlo show was in November 30\, 2013 at Carnegie Hall\, only a few months before Pete passed away at the age of 94. \nIn 1965 a teenaged Guthrie performed a “friendly gesture” that proved to be fateful. Arlo was arrested for littering\, leading him to be deemed “not moral enough to join the army.” Guthrie attained international attention at age 19 by recounting the true events on the album Alice’s Restaurant in 1967. The Alice’s Restaurant Massacree\, an 18 minute and 20 second partially sung comic monologue opposing the war and the backward reasoning of authority\, has become an anti-establishment anthem and an essential part of Thanksgiving on rock stations receiving worldwide airplay. Alice’s Restaurant achieved platinum status and was made into a movie in 1969\, in which Arlo played himself\, by the esteemed director Arthur Penn. 1969 also brought Arlo to the rock festival of the ages – Woodstock. His appearance showcased Arlo’s chart-topping Coming Into Los Angeles\, which was included on the multi-platinum Woodstock soundtrack and movie.
