SUMMARY:Music Under the Gallows: Using the Arts in Holocaust Learning
DESCRIPTION:VINELAND\, NJ—In the face of dehumanization and demoralization under the Nazis\, how does one explain the continued desire to create and play music? What did music represent to such persons who could not say what the next day would bring? What lessons can we learn from their actions? \nThis will be explored at a workshop\, free and open to the public\, on Thursday\, March 21\, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.\, at the George P. Luciano Conference & Events Center\, Cumberland County College\, 3322 College Drive\, Vineland\, NJ. \nThe workshop will explore how many of the concentration camps and ghettos in Europe—Terezin\, Auschwitz\, Vilna\, and others—had\, amidst horrible conditions\, thriving musical lives. This including orchestras\, concerts\, musical compositions\, and more. The role that music and the arts played in the camps and ghettos will be explored\, as well as how the arts affected the lives of the prisoners who witnessed these performances\, and how this music can used to teach and inform our current and future generations about the Holocaust. \nTo attend\, please register no later than Friday\, March 14 by going to www.HolocaustCoalition.com and clicking on “Register Here“—or by calling 302-265-3870. Educators desiring Professional Development credits should kindly provide their name\, contact information\, and school. \nFor more information on this and all South Jersey Holocaust Coalition events and activities\, e-mail holocaustcoalition@gmail.com\, visit the Coalition’s website at www.HolocaustCoalition.com\, or visit their Facebook page at “South Jersey Holocaust Coalition.”

SUMMARY:Tusk- The Ultimate Fleetwood Mac Tribute
DESCRIPTION:Tusk is the number one Tribute to Fleetwood Mac in the world\, bar none. No wigs\, no backing tracks\, no gimmicks\, just five musicians recreating the music of Fleetwood Mac to perfection with note for note renditions that no other Fleetwood Mac tribute on the touring scene today can come close to duplicating. \nTusk covers all the great hits of Fleetwood Mac\, which has featured the talents of Mick Fleetwood\, Christine and John McVie\, Lindsey Buckingham\, Stevie Nicks and others over the years. The five seasoned\, well-respected musicians comprising Tusk have been making music together in various combinations and styles\, in original outfits and in cover bands\, for over twenty-five years. It seemed only fitting that they should come together to form the Ultimate Fleetwood Mac Tribute\, and pay homage to a group that dominated the charts during the band members’ formative years. Authentic-sounding and always respectful\, Tusk leaves no stone unturned in replicating the sounds of one of the world’s best-loved\, top-selling bands.\n

SUMMARY:Cecelia Hall at Landis Theater
DESCRIPTION:March 16 – 3 pm \nBerlioz— Les Nuits d’été (Summer Nights)\nCecelia Hall\, mezzo-soprano\nBrahms—Symphony No. 4 \n \nLight and dark—chiaroscuro—transfigure this concert of ultimate contrast. In Berlioz’s perfumed song cycle\, each poem comes to languorous life\, soaring or melting by turns\, especially with Cecelia Hall’s richly-hued voice and magnetic artistry. Brahms’ final symphony miraculously deepens with each tone and yet simultaneously somehow shimmers with almost piercing luminosity. The conclusion is one of the most shattering in all of music. \n  \n\nSeason Tickets are on sale now for the 2018 – 2019 season.  Order you tickets today to reserve the best seats in the house!  Subscription Series – 5 incredible concerts for $125.00. Click to Buy Now! \nPre-Concert Talks\nJoin Music Director Jed Gaylin one hour before concerts for an enlightening and\nentertaining pre-concert talk. (No”talk” preceding Holiday Concert.)

SUMMARY:Max Weinberg’s Jukebox
DESCRIPTION:Max Weinberg’s Jukebox: \nA truly interactive experience\, Weinberg invites the audience to create the setlist\, in real time\, that he and his crack four-piece group will play that night. Performing songs from the glory days of rock and roll your guests get to choose from a video menu of over 200 songs — everything from the Beatles to the Stones to Bruce and The E Street Band’s biggest hits — and hear the group play ‘em the way they want to hear them played! \nThat’s right—the crowd gets to yell out their choices and Max plays them! This unique approach is fun and satisfying. How many times have you attended a show where you yearned to hear your favorite performer play your favorite song?\nWith Max Weinberg’s Jukebox\, your dream will be realized. \nPrepare to Party! \nPerforming over 80 shows so far throughout 2017 and 2018 Max Weinberg’s Jukebox continues to barnstorm the country\, blasting out the hits! \nAs Chuck Berry instructed us in his classic “School Days\,”…drop the coin right into the slot” audiences have thoroughly embraced the idea of picking and calling out the songs the band pays—in real time and in a variety of intimate venues.\nFrom Beatles to Bruce and Stones to Steppenwolf the band infuses these classics with the respect the songs deserve.\nAs one fan said\, “It’s not a concert—it’s a party! The bar was packed!” \nBut don’t take our word for it. Here’s what Marc Steczyk\, director of the Lincoln Amphitheater\, in Indiana\, had to say:\n“Max Weinberg’s Jukebox was one of the most interactive\, energetic performances that we’ve ever had at the Lincoln Amphitheater! Max\, literally\, leaves the stage to be amongst the crowd—his fans—and lets them pick the setlist from a scrolling list of 300+ songs…and they play it…on the spot…spot on! Max is a pro’s pro\, as was his entire band—tremendously professional to work with and a great asset to our entire performance series!” \nPurchase tickets here.

SUMMARY:Livingston Taylor
DESCRIPTION:Livingston Taylor picked up his first guitar at the age of 13\, which began a 50-year career that has encompassed performance\, songwriting\, and teaching. Born in Boston and raised in North Carolina\, Livingston is the fourth child in a very musical family that includes Alex\, James\, Kate\, and Hugh. Livingston recorded his first record at the age of 18 and has continued to create well crafted\, introspective\, and original songs that have earned him listeners worldwide. \nFrom top-40 hits “I Will Be in Love with You” and “I’ll Come Running\,” to “I Can Dream of You” and “Boatman\,” the last two recorded by his brother James\, Livingston’s creative output has continued unabated. His musical knowledge has inspired a varied repertoire\, and he is equally at home with a range of musical genres—folk\, pop\, gospel\, jazz—and from upbeat storytelling and touching ballads to full orchestra performances. \nLivingston has never stopped performing since those early coffeehouse days\, shared the stage with major artists such as Joni Mitchell\, Linda Ronstadt\, Fleetwood Mac\, Jimmy Buffett\, and Jethro Tull\, and he maintains a busy concert schedule\, touring internationally. He is a natural performer\, peppering his shows with personal stories\, anecdotes and ineffable warmth that connect him to his fans. His relaxed on-stage presence belies the depth of his musical knowledge\, and fans might just as often be treated to a classic Gershwin or something from the best of Broadway. \nLivingston is a full professor at Berklee College of Music\, where he has taught a Stage Performance course since 1989. He teaches young artists invaluable lessons learned over the course of an extensive career on the road; the course is consistently voted the most popular at the College. His high-selling book\, Stage Performance\, released in 2011 offers those lessons to anyone who is interested in elevating their presentation standards to professional standards. \nLivingston’s 50th year of making music was celebrated by Boston Mayor Marty Walsh and Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker\, both declaring January 18\, 2017 “Livingston Taylor Day”. A documentary film entitled “Livingston Taylor: Life is Good” was released in 2018 at national and international film festivals. It has garnered many awards\, nominations\, and accolades\, including The Van Gogh Award for the Feature Documentart category at the Amsterdam International Film Festival. The film will premiere to the public on Amazon\, with a release date coming soon. Click here to watch the trailer.

He’s got the look\, the moves\, and the sounds down jaw-droppingly well. So well\, you’ll forget it’s only a tribute. \nIt all started in 2012\, when Dean Ford and his musician friends put on their first of many sold out tributes to the Purple One in Portland\, Maine. The show\, lovingly entitled “Purple Brainz” is now held annually at the prestigious\, Port City Music Hall. Past shows have featured Prince and The Revolution’s own keyboardist Matt “Doctor” Fink. Lately\, Ford has been sticking with a rotation of his core band\, The Beautiful Ones. Though\, he and the band have plenty of surprises up their frilled sleeves.

SUMMARY:Superstar: Music of The Carpenters!
DESCRIPTION:There’s a reason why Richard Carpenter\, himself\, gave Helen Welch his blessing to bring Superstar to life. Helen’s distinctive alto voice settles in perfectly amidst the precise\, lush arrangements provided by her band performing Carpenters classics such as; “Close to You\,” “We’ve Only Just Begun\,” “Superstar\,” “Yesterday Once More”\, “Top of the World” and many more! \n  \nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKcFCiijTw4&feature=youtu.be

SUMMARY:Max Weinberg’s Jukebox
DESCRIPTION:Lobby Doors: 7:00 PM\nSeating: 7:00 PM\nRuntime: TBD\n(Artist) Website: Max Weinberg’s Jukebox\nPremium seating is available. Premium prices include a $20 donation to the Theatre.\nMerchandise will be available for purchase.\nThe Vaudeville Bar will open and begin serving at 7:00 PM.\nThe prices shown above do not include any ticketing or service fees. \nPrivate Meet & Greet Tickets \nVIP Meet and Greet – includes photo-op with Mr. Weinberg and one (1) personalized autograph. \n \nMax Weinberg’s Jukebox: \nA truly interactive experience\, Weinberg invites the audience to create the set list\, in real time\, that he and his crack four piece group will play that night. How many times have you attended a show where you yearned to hear your favorite performer play your favorite song?\nWith Max Weinberg’s Jukebox your dream will be realized. \nPrepare to Party! \nPerforming over 80 shows so far throughout 2017 and 2018 Max Weinberg’s Jukebox continues to barnstorm the country\, blasting out the hits! \nAs Chuck Berry instructed us in his classic “School Days\,”…drop the coin right into the slot” audiences have thoroughly embraced the idea of picking and calling out the songs the band pays—in real time and in a variety of intimate venues.\nFrom Beatles to Bruce and Stones to Steppenwolf the band infuses these classics with the respect the songs deserve.\nAs one fan said\, “It’s not a concert—it’s party! The bar was packed!” \nBut don’t take our word for it. Here’s what Marc Steczyk\, director of the Lincoln Amphitheater\, in Indiana\, had to say: \n“Max Weinberg’s Jukebox was one of the most interactive\, energetic performances that we’ve ever had at the Lincoln Amphitheater! Max\, literally\, leaves the stage to be amongst the crowd—his fans—and lets them pick the set list from a scrolling list of 300+ songs…and they play it…on the spot…spot on! Max is a pro’s pro\, as was his entire band—tremendously professional to work with and a great asset to our entire performance series!”
