SUMMARY:Salem County Tomato Festival
DESCRIPTION:The Salem Tomato Festival is back!\nSaturday – August 21st – 11am-4pm \nThe festival is inspired by Robert Gibbon Johnson\, who as legend has it\, stood on the steps of the Salem Courthouse in the early 1800’s and ate a bushel of what was then considered to be “poison apples.” Despite what many expected\, he survived and tomatoes are now considered one of South Jersey’s many delicacies. \nStarting in the 1980’s\, Salem hosted Robert Gibbon Johnson Day\, hundreds flocked to Salem and the event was highlighted with a reenactment of Johnson’s infamous tomato eating. A lot of fondness remains for that event\, and people still love South Jersey tomatoes\, so we saw fit to bring it back.\nFood trucks\, the tremendous DJ Jason Reese\, the Best of South Jersey winning band To The Max\, and the reenactment are ready to go. There will also be an all ages art contest hosted by the Salem Art League displayed at the old Salem Courthouse\, a tomato competition and a tomato toss.\nA variety of vendors and non-profits will be lined up Market Street. Vendor spots remain open! Whether you have a brick & mortar store or you just started making things at home in the last 18 months\, we invite you to come set up a table in Salem and share what you have to offer. Non-profits of all varieties are invited as well. Applications are required for vendor and non-profit participation with all vendor fees waived if you apply before 8/8/21. No vendor fee for non-profits. \nPlease reach out to Tom Smith at 609-204-0825 or email him at tom.smith@mannington.com for questions related to vending\, art contest submissions or the tomato competition.

SUMMARY:Bobby Collins: Comedian
DESCRIPTION:Lobby Doors: 7:00 PM\nSeating: 7:00 PM\nShowtime: 8:00 PM\nRuntime: ~ Approximately 75 minutes\nThe Vaudeville Bar will open and begin serving at 7:00 PM.\nThe prices shown above do not include any ticketing or service fees. \nComedian Bobby Collins has distinguished himself as one of the Premier Comedians in our country. He has an ability to truthfully translate the human condition. Audiences across the country relate to his comedic characterizations as he exposes the humor of day-to-day situations as well as serving up resplendent rants on world events. \nThrough precise physical timing and impeccable audience insight\, he has honed his talents while performing from hole in the wall clubs to sold out theaters. Bobby Collins’ rise to top headlining\, comedic master was inevitable. His true dedication to his craft is what keeps his vibrant shows consistently sold out. \nA native New Yorker\, Collins possesses a confidence and genuine everyman like ability that can only be earned. He knows what it’s like to work a day job\, in order to pursue a dream. He’s flipped his share of burgers\, as well as signing on as a substitute high school history teacher\, to pay the bills – all the while performing in comedy clubs at night. \nAfter heeding a conversation with his father\, with some trepidation\, he ventured into sales. Settling into the high fashion industry. A detour that proved so successful\, that in the 1980’s he had risen to Vice President at Calvin Klein. It was there that he found himself faced with a life changing decision; remain here or chuck the security (and more than substantial steady income) for the uncertain challenge of heading out on the road – to pursue his dream of becoming a professional\, full time stand-up comedian. \nIt was a decision he’s never regretted. \nRealizing his dream has given Bobby the opportunity to tour with titans of entertainment like Frank Sinatra\, Cher\, Julio Iglesias and Dolly Parton. As a professional stand-up comedian\, he’s worked alongside friends\, Chris Rock\, Ray Romano and Drew Carey\, Jerry Seinfeld as well as many others. RosieO’Donnell specifically requested that Bobby take over as host for VH1 Stand-Up Spotlight. \nIt is his relationship with his audiences that results in sold out shows everywhere he makes an appearance. What you see is what you get – Collins is the same man on and off the stage. Bobby Collins has a genuine love for what he does. With such skillful dissection of everyday life\, he weaves his uproarious storytelling with effortless flair and charisma as he successfully dismantles any and all socioeconomic\, race and age divides. As evidenced by his birthday performance for Chelsea Clinton at the White House as well as his Performance at the inauguration of Donald Trump to appearances in US embassies and USO shows abroad. Night after night\, Bobby Collins masterfully reflects the hilarious truth – we’re all in this together! \n\n\n\n\n\n\nBobby currently has 5 CD’s\, 3 DVD’s and 1 book. \nWith the critically acclaimed publication of his first book\, “On The Inside – Witisms and Wisdomisms by Comedian Bobby Collins” we learn\, through his personal and professional tragedies and triumphs\, what has shaped his beliefs. With humorous recall\, Bobby recounts his search for balance between career and family.

Buddy is elf-raised\, unaware that he is actually a human\, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission\, he embarks on a journey to New York City with dreams to find his birth father and discover his true identity. What’s an adopted elf to do when he realizes his father is on Santa’s ‘naughty’ list and his half-brother doesn’t believe that there is a Santa Claus? It’s up to Buddy to save Christmas! Find your inner ELF as the writers of Annie and The Wedding Singer bring us the unforgettable gift of a Broadway musical for the holiday season! After all\, the best way to spread Christmas Cheer is singing loud for all to hear.
