SUMMARY:Volunteer for the Glassboro Community Playground Build.
DESCRIPTION:We need your help!\nVolunteer for the Glassboro Community Playground Build.\nIn 2019\, over 200 residents\, students\, and local friends of Glassboro\, New Jersey came together to build the playground at Renlund Park that has since seen thousands of families enjoy the playground while taking time to enjoy the great outdoors\, exercising\, and have fun. We are going to do it again at Owens Field Park on July 10\, 2021.\nA community-built playground project is all about bringing a sense of fun\, freedom\, and creativity to children. Play is a necessity\, not a luxury. Children who engage in active play perform better in school\, think more creatively\, maintain healthier body weights\, and are better able to resolve their problems peacefully. Safe play spaces also let children experience the joy of just being a kid\, free of adult worries and responsibilities. All children deserve these opportunities! Just as play is essential to a child’s physical\, mental and social development\, so does a community-build project contribute to the health and vibrancy of the entire community.\nCommunity build playgrounds bring out the best in people. Not only are they building a community gathering space\, but they’re helping build community\, pride\, and a sense of ownership. Even more\, by volunteering just a few hours of help\, volunteers are helping the Borough of Glassboro save 30% on installation costs. This playground will cost $65\,000 and by having a community build to put it together\, the Borough saves $15\,000 on installation costs\, allows us to purchase more playground equipment\, and provides a sense of Glassboro pride and ownership in the community.\nExperience is helpful\, but not necessary as Borough Employees and the playground manufacturers crew will be building right alongside the volunteers and ensuring everyone’s safety and well-being.\nSIGN UP IS EASY for groups\, families\, businesses\, organizations. We only ask that all volunteers are OVER THE AGE OF 13.\nStill have questions? Call (856) 881-1501 or email Joe Blandino at jblandino@glassboro.org

SUMMARY:Always...Patsy Cline\, The Broadway Theatre of Pitman
DESCRIPTION:July 9 – July 18 \n“Always…Patsy Cline” has enjoyed great success all over the United States\, including a successful run off-Broadway. It has been one of the most produced musicals in America according to American Theatre Magazine. “Always…Patsy Cline” has also been enjoyed internationally by audiences in Canada\, the UK and Australia. \n“Always…Patsy Cline” is more than a tribute to the legendary country singer who died tragically at age 30 in a plane crash in 1963. The show is based on a true story about Cline’s friendship with a fan from Houston named Louise Seger\, who befriended the star in a Texas honky-tonk in l961\, and continued a correspondence with Cline until her death. \nThe musical play\, complete with down home country humor\, true emotion and even some audience participation\, includes many of Patsy’ unforgettable hits such as Crazy\, I Fall to Pieces\, Sweet Dreams and Walking After Midnight…27 songs in all. The show’s title was inspired by Cline’s letters to Seger\, which were consistently signed “Love ALWAYS… Patsy Cline.”

SUMMARY:Lidl to be Major Sponsor of Main Street Vineland's Third Annual Running the Ave 5K
DESCRIPTION:Cumberland County’s Premier Road Race\, Fully Sanctioned\nOrganized in Cooperation with Second Capital Running\nRegistration Now Open\nAdditional Sponsorship Opportunities Available \nVINELAND\, NJ—Main Street Vineland has announced that Lidl\, recognized by Food & Wine Magazine as a top 10 supermarket in America\, will be the major sponsor of the Third Annual Running The Ave 5K\, to take place on Sunday\, June 27\, rain or shine\, starting at 9 a.m. in downtown Vineland. \nCumberland County’s premier road race\, organized in cooperation with Second Capital Running\, will go through 3.1 miles of Vineland’s wide streets and green parks. The race starts on The Ave. Special awards will go to the fastest runner from Vineland and a True Grit Award for the last-place finisher. Team challenges will take place for the fastest family and fastest business. Social distancing measures will be in place. \nLidl opened its Vineland store\, its first in New Jersey\, in November 2017 and today operates 10 stores in the state\, with plans to open 10 additional stores by the end of this year. The National Retail Federation recognized Lidl last year as the fastest growing retailer in the United States. \n“Lidl is loved by customers worldwide and their sponsorship of events like this—and others that they have sponsored—really shows support within the localities in which they do businesses\,” Swanson said. “They are true community partners\, and we are proud to continue to have them aboard to help make events on The Ave such as this the best they can be.” \nThe Running The Ave 5K event has put downtown Vineland on the map in the running community\,” according to Main Street Vineland Associate Director Robert Scarpa\, and this year’s race should be no exception. \n“Over the past two years we’ve had runners from throughout the Delaware Valley participate\, with approximately 140 registering each year\,” he said. “This is phenomenal and has helped earn the event a place in The Ave’s annual lineup of events. Sign up and participate or just come out and cheer on the runners.” \nTo participate\, register by going to Main Street Vineland’s website—www.theave.biz. \nFor more information on this and all Main Street Vineland events and initiatives\, call the Main Street Vineland office at 856-794-8653\, visit the organization’s website at www.TheAve.biz\, or visit it on Facebook.
