SUMMARY:TONY MART PRESENTS FREE SUNSET CONCERTS
DESCRIPTION:Moved from the bay in Somers Point to the banks of the beautiful Egg Harbor River at the foot of Sugar Hill Inn in Mays Landing\, our first sunset concert series was a fabulous success with a very happy and safely\, socially distanced audience spread out over the beautiful terraces and hillside leading to the riverfront stage where the great Hawkins Road performed three tremendous shows. The series kicks into high gear this Friday with our annual July party starring our own Jersey Shore Rock and Soul Guitar Hero\, Billy Walton and his Band performing a free concert with free parking. As usual at our annual July celebration we will have rum cake and cannoli while they last and of course lots of excellent food and fine bar service from the Sugar Hill Inn gang. The Party starts around 5:30pm and live musical performances until the 10 o’clock curfew. On Saturday night Tony Mart will present one of the most popular shows of the 2019 Beach Concert Season\, “Eagles Country” a 2 1/2 hour tribute to the Eagles complete with hits from Joe Walsh\, Vince Gill and Don Henley.

SUMMARY:Effective Crisis Communication: Damage Control When a Crisis Threatens Your Organization's Reputation
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, June 17\, 2020\n1:00 pm – 2:30 pm EDT \nHonestly speaking\, sooner or later a crisis is bound to happen to your organization\, and it could become the lead story in the local news media – even become a national news story. Any number of situations can be the cause of negative news about your organization or disrupt its ability to carry out its mission – a data breach; a natural disaster\, such as pandemic; a rumor; financial emergencies; leadership problems; criminal activity or a social media post made in poor taste. The middle of a crisis is the worst time to try to prepare. The best time to prepare for a crisis is long before it happens. Being prepared for a potential crisis is critical because your organization’s reputation could be at stake! In this thought-provoking webinar\, two experienced television news professionals will share strategic insights about how to develop a vitally important 21st Century Crisis Communications Plan in the “age of social media\,” and how to groom and guide your Crisis Communications Team during a crisis. Register here.

SUMMARY:Fostering Education from Home Part II: Applying Strategies in the Real World
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, June 10\, 2020\n1:00 pm – 2:30 pm EDT \nWith children out of school and at home\, caregivers have been asked to assume many new roles and responsibilities. Among these is the role of teacher. Even under the best of circumstances\, youth who have experienced foster care often have difficulty navigating the demands of school. Now\, as schools move into remote learning mode\, caregivers must find ways to keep their students motivated\, engaged\, and learning (as well as fed\, entertained\, and supported in coping with the traumas of this “new normal”). How can we create routines that allow us to help our kids with assignments and virtual classes? Part I of this two-part webinar session will offer research-informed strategies that caregivers\, social workers\, educators\, and advocates can implement to address some of the common challenges that arise with schooling from home. Part II of this webinar will focus on practice and implementation of the practical tools for parents and caregivers introduced in Part I. Register here.
