Burzichelli\nNJ’s Third Legislative\nDistrict\nRegister Here\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOn March 21\, Governor Phil Murphy announced extensive measures to help slow the spread of COVID-19\, which mandated the closure of all physical retail businesses deemed to be nonessential. He also issued a “stay at home order” that requested all residents remain in their homes\, to the best of their ability\, for foreseeable future. \nThe financial consequences facing businesses have been significant and unfortunately\, are going to continue. However\, as Governor Murphy recently announced on April 13\, New Jersey and several of our neighboring states are taking slow steps towards discussing what the reopening of the economy should look when appropriate to do so. \n Without question\, the health and safety of all New Jersey residents must remain the priority. However\, the CCSNJ would like to hear from our members directly on the issue of reopening the economy. We would like to invite you to join the CCSNJ Economic Reopening and Recovery Working Group. This group will trade information\, ideas and best practices\, which the CCSNJ will use to inform policymakers of the tools New Jersey needs to reopen the economy when it is deemed in the state’s best interest to do so.  \nSpecifically\, we will look for information on: \n\nwhat should the reopening look like for various industries\nwhat differing (or similar) policies will help micro-businesses\, independent contractors\, small businesses\, mid-sized employers and large employers\nwhat policies should be enacted to assure the economy is best positioned for a swift rebound\n\nIf you are interested in joining the Working Group\, please click here. Once you sign up\, we will be in touch soon with more information and next steps. \nFor more information\, please contact Hilary Beckett\, Manager\, Government Affairs at hbeckett@chambersnj.com \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Big River
DESCRIPTION:This event is postponed\nTwain’s timeless classic sweeps us down the mighty Mississippi as the irrepressible Huck Finn helps his friend Jim\, a slave\, escape to freedom at the mouth of the Ohio River. Their adventures along the way are hilarious\, suspenseful and heartwarming\, bringing to life your favorite characters from the novel-the Widow Douglas and her stern sister\, Miss Watson; the uproarious King and Duke\, who may or may not be as harmless as they seem; Huck’s partner in crime\, Tom Sawyer\, and their rowdy gang of pals; Huck’s drunken father\, the sinister Pap Finn; the lovely Mary Jane Wilkes and her trusting family. Propelled by an award-winning score from Roger Miller\, the king of country music\, this jaunty journey provides a brilliantly theatrical celebration of pure Americana. Songs include\, “The Boys\,” “Muddy Water” and “River In The Rain.”

SUMMARY:Dean Ford & The Beautiful Ones- A Tribute 2 Prince
DESCRIPTION:This event is postponed\nDressed 2 the 9’s\, Dean Ford embodies PRINCE with every fiber of his being\, giving you a show as close as you will ever get to the real thing. Ford and company perform all the hits you know and love\, including the “Purple Rain” album in its entirety. But\, it’s more than just the songs. He’s got the look\, the moves\, and the sounds down jaw-droppingly well. So well\, you’ll forget it’s only a tribute. \nIt all started in 2012\, when Dean Ford and his musician friends put on their first of many sold out tributes to the Purple One in Portland\, Maine. The show\, lovingly entitled “Purple Brainz” is now held annually at the prestigious\, Port City Music Hall. Past shows have featured Prince and The Revolution’s own keyboardist Matt “Doctor” Fink. Lately\, Ford has been sticking with a rotation of his core band\, The Beautiful Ones. Though\, he and the band have plenty of surprises up their frilled sleeves.

SUMMARY:COVID-19 Relief Bills - FREE Webinar March 31
DESCRIPTION:Federal Coronavirus Relief Bills: What Do They Mean for Nonprofits? \nIn rapid succession over the last two weeks\, Congress passed and the President signed two far-reaching pieces of legislation designed to provide relief to the American people and businesses – including non-profits. Included in the provisions of these bills are major victories for nonprofits\, operational relief\, and new obligations. \nOn Tuesday\, March 31 at 3:30 pm Eastern\, the networks of the National Council of Nonprofits (which includes the Center for Non-Profits) will host a national presentation to help all in the charitable community understand what various provisions of the two laws mean for non-profits. \nRegister Here \nThe Families First Coronavirus Response Act created new workplace obligations for employers and expanded supports for individuals affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Eight days later\, the Coronavirus Aid\, Relief\, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) authorized more than $2 trillion in spending to inject cash into the economy\, businesses\, and non-profits. There is a great deal to unpack: \n\nMandated paid sick and family leave and refundable payroll tax credits\nGenerous loan funds for small (< 500 employees) and mid-size (between 500 and 10\,000 employees) non-profit employers; which program is best for your organization?\nLimited above-the-line or universal charitable deduction available for 2020\nEmployee retention refundable tax credit\nExpanded unemployment and enhanced funding for social support programs\n\nThis webinar will share the latest analysis and information for charitable nonprofits\, recognizing that multiple federal agencies must write the rules and forms and establish processes for getting money into the hands of nonprofits as quickly as possible. \nThe webinar will be recorded and the recording will be made available.

SUMMARY:The PettyBreakers- Tribute to Tom Petty
DESCRIPTION:“The World’s Greatest Tribute to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers!” So say Katie Daryl\, Mark Cuban and Ryan Seacrest of AXS-TV as they selected the PettyBreakers to perform on their hit TV show in 2014. \nWhat started out in 2010 as a regional band is now the Nations’s #1 touring tribute to Tom Petty\, having played in 22 states and Washington D.C. with more being added constantly. Some of The PettyBreakers’  highlights so far includes performing at the Naval Yard in Washington D.C. in 2018 for Major League Baseball’s Allstars Pregame Celebration and a four and half month residency in the Sammy Davis Showroom at Harrah’s Casino in Reno in 2017. Perhaps the biggest highlight was being selected in 2014 as “The World’s Greatest Tribute to Tom Petty” by AXS-TV. The PettyBreakers performed a live show at the Whisky a Go Go in Hollywood to a capacity crowd\, which was cablecast on AXS-TV. The band looks forward to celebrating their 10th anniversary next year with fans all across the US.
