SUMMARY:Native Gardens
DESCRIPTION:A Regional Premiere play by Karen Zacarias \nCultures clash in this brilliant new flower-flinging romp\, turning well-intentioned neighbors into feuding enemies. Pablo\, a rising attorney\, and doctoral candidate Tania\, his very pregnant wife\, have just purchased a home in a historic neighborhood next to Frank and Virginia\, a well-established D.C. couple with a prize-worthy English garden. But a disagreement over the property line that separates their backyards soon spirals into an all-out war of taste\, class\, and gardening. Chockfull of pep and poignancy\, Mexican-American playwright Karen Zacarías pushes the boundaries and shatters biases one laugh at a time in Eagle Theatre’s rendition of this shear-sharp modern comedy. \nMarch 22 – April 14\, 2019\nWEDNESDAY & THURSDAY | 7:30pm\nFRIDAY & SATURDAY | 8:00pm\nSATURDAY & SUNDAY | 3:00pm Matinee \nBox Office:\n609-704-5012\nboxoffice@theeagletheatre.com

SUMMARY:Music Under the Gallows: Using the Arts in Holocaust Learning
DESCRIPTION:VINELAND\, NJ—In the face of dehumanization and demoralization under the Nazis\, how does one explain the continued desire to create and play music? What did music represent to such persons who could not say what the next day would bring? What lessons can we learn from their actions? \nThis will be explored at a workshop\, free and open to the public\, on Thursday\, March 21\, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.\, at the George P. Luciano Conference & Events Center\, Cumberland County College\, 3322 College Drive\, Vineland\, NJ. \nThe workshop will explore how many of the concentration camps and ghettos in Europe—Terezin\, Auschwitz\, Vilna\, and others—had\, amidst horrible conditions\, thriving musical lives. This including orchestras\, concerts\, musical compositions\, and more. The role that music and the arts played in the camps and ghettos will be explored\, as well as how the arts affected the lives of the prisoners who witnessed these performances\, and how this music can used to teach and inform our current and future generations about the Holocaust. \nTo attend\, please register no later than Friday\, March 14 by going to www.HolocaustCoalition.com and clicking on “Register Here“—or by calling 302-265-3870. Educators desiring Professional Development credits should kindly provide their name\, contact information\, and school. \nFor more information on this and all South Jersey Holocaust Coalition events and activities\, e-mail holocaustcoalition@gmail.com\, visit the Coalition’s website at www.HolocaustCoalition.com\, or visit their Facebook page at “South Jersey Holocaust Coalition.”

SUMMARY:Tusk- The Ultimate Fleetwood Mac Tribute
DESCRIPTION:Tusk is the number one Tribute to Fleetwood Mac in the world\, bar none. No wigs\, no backing tracks\, no gimmicks\, just five musicians recreating the music of Fleetwood Mac to perfection with note for note renditions that no other Fleetwood Mac tribute on the touring scene today can come close to duplicating. \nTusk covers all the great hits of Fleetwood Mac\, which has featured the talents of Mick Fleetwood\, Christine and John McVie\, Lindsey Buckingham\, Stevie Nicks and others over the years. The five seasoned\, well-respected musicians comprising Tusk have been making music together in various combinations and styles\, in original outfits and in cover bands\, for over twenty-five years. It seemed only fitting that they should come together to form the Ultimate Fleetwood Mac Tribute\, and pay homage to a group that dominated the charts during the band members’ formative years. Authentic-sounding and always respectful\, Tusk leaves no stone unturned in replicating the sounds of one of the world’s best-loved\, top-selling bands.\n

SUMMARY:Cecelia Hall at Landis Theater
DESCRIPTION:March 16 – 3 pm \nBerlioz— Les Nuits d’été (Summer Nights)\nCecelia Hall\, mezzo-soprano\nBrahms—Symphony No. 4 \n \nLight and dark—chiaroscuro—transfigure this concert of ultimate contrast. In Berlioz’s perfumed song cycle\, each poem comes to languorous life\, soaring or melting by turns\, especially with Cecelia Hall’s richly-hued voice and magnetic artistry. Brahms’ final symphony miraculously deepens with each tone and yet simultaneously somehow shimmers with almost piercing luminosity. The conclusion is one of the most shattering in all of music. \n  \n\nSeason Tickets are on sale now for the 2018 – 2019 season.  Order you tickets today to reserve the best seats in the house!  Subscription Series – 5 incredible concerts for $125.00. Click to Buy Now! \nPre-Concert Talks\nJoin Music Director Jed Gaylin one hour before concerts for an enlightening and\nentertaining pre-concert talk. (No”talk” preceding Holiday Concert.)
