The 4-H Fair is a celebration of the accomplishments of our 4-H members who have worked throughout the year learning more about their 4-H project and themselves through their club and other 4-H educational experiences. \nVisitors can see for themselves the original “maker movement” – hands-on\, learn-by-doing that has been the 4-H slogan since 1902 and part of the 4-H creed\, “I believe in the training of my HANDS for the ability it will give me to be helpful\, skillful\, and useful.” \nNew day for Chicken BBQ\, Saturday\, August 11\, starts at 4 p.m.The public is invited to enjoy the 4-H projects and demonstrations during the upcoming Atlantic County 4-H Fair\, August 9 -11\, that highlight the variety of “maker” activities they engage in all year round. Projects in the main building include all the “traditional” 4-H projects like baking\, preserving\, arts & crafts\, and fine arts but also robotics\, STEM\, and model railroad – all very much a part of the maker movement. Throughout the fairgrounds\, examples are found in the small engines\, composting\, and other projects. \nThe Fair still brings the feeling of an “old-time country fair\,” which is now a new experience for many as our county has fewer rural areas. They can see and interact with animals\, watch shows\, demonstrations\, and musical acts\, and look forward to the amusement rides. They can take part in Saturday’s public events – the Baby Parade\, Tractor Pull\, and Pet Parade – and each of the three days of Fair talk to members and volunteers. DESCRIPTION:The 3rd Official New Jersey Fringe Festival\, a 3-day street fair and theatrical marathon\, will take place in Downtown Hammonton from August 3d – August 5th. \nAccess to the outdoor festival area is free and open to the public. Street performers\, live music\, interactive pop-up art\, food vendors and a craft beer and wine garden will line the streets. \nThe festival will also feature a variety of eclectic specialty theatrical performances\, all held inside multiple venues within walking distance of the festival’s hub\, Eagle Theatre. \nPerformances range from 20 – 90 minutes and are performed multiple times throughout the day. Selections range from small musicals\, cutting edge original work\, one-man/one-woman shows\, cabarets\, and experiential storytelling.
