The Funny Farm Rescue Animal Sanctuary has been operating since 2000 on a privately-owned, 15-acre farm in Mays Landing. Its owner and president, Laurie Zaleski, and her dedicated staff feed and care for the animals twice a day, including administering medications as required. In addition to placement and providing a safe and happy home where many of these animals live out their natural lives, they work to prevent cruelty to animals through educational programs.
Through their non-profit 501(c)(3) status, Funny Farm Rescue is able to collect donations to pay for its facilities, food for the animals, and veterinary care, when needed. They maintain relationships with a number of key local and state-wide organizations, including the SPCA, Atlantic City Police, the Humane Society, the Pig Placement Network, and Atlantic County Wildlife Aid, to name a few.
