GrandFUN is heading to the Cape May County Zoo!
Lions, and Tigers, and Bears, O my! GrandFUN is off to the Cape May Zoo on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 sponsored by the Salem County Department of Health and Human Services. This free event will depart from the Salem County Office Building located at 110 Fifth St, Salem, NJ at 9:00 am and return about 3:30 pm.
The Salem Office on Aging and Disabilities will be providing free transportation to and from the Cape May Zoo, free time to tour the zoo, as well as a box lunch, which includes a sandwich, drink, fruit, and chips.
GrandFUN was created for Grandparents and other Older Adult Caregivers (55+), who have primary caregiving responsibilities for children under 18 years of age.
To be eligible to participate a grandparent or other older relative must be at least 55 years of age or older and be the primary caregiver for children under the age of 18. Primary caregiving means caring for a child because the parent cannot or will not, in formally raising the children, or having legal guardianship or rights to raise the children.
GrandFUN offers free social, recreation, and educational events throughout the year. Events are held in the evenings, weekends, or around the grandchildren’s school schedules.
Advanced registration at (856) 339-8622 is required as seats on the bus are limited. A wheelchair accessible vehicle is being used. In the event of severe weather the trip to the Cape May Zoo will be postponed. For more information about GrandFUN, call the Salem County Office on Aging and Disabilities at (856) 339-8622.
