HELP REFUGEES LEARN TO SPEAK AND UNDERSTAND ENGLISH AT INTERFAITH-RISE
2384 E Landis Ave, Vineland, New Jersey 08361 | Interfaith-Rise
Interfaith-Rise on Landis Avenue in Vineland, NJ is seeking volunteers to help people who are newly arrived in our community learn conversational English. (How to ask where a certain store is, directions, make doctors’ appointments, ask a salesperson for an item, and so forth.)
These folks are displaced from countries such as the Ukraine, Afghanistan, Haiti, etc.
Two types of volunteers are being sought:
- People interested in conversing and gently correcting errors.
- Those able to conduct more “formal” English lessons.
Reach out and touch someone.
Make a major difference for this newly-arrived generation and those that follow.
