Jami Saraullo Receives March 2022 New Jersey’s Heartland Hero Award
Jami Saraullo always has something planned for the children, whether a visit to a farm, a planetarium, hosting holiday parties, or birthday celebrations. She has even entertained friends and family with Zoom bingo during Covid! Going above and beyond comes naturally to Jami and is why we have named her the March Heartland Hero!
Jami and her daughter Alyssia founded an organization in 2016 called Special Events for Special Kids (SE4SK). The organization recently became a nonprofit and was recognized in the community. SE4SK holds fundraisers to host free events for children with special needs or disabilities ages 3 – 17 years old and their families. The mission of SE4SK is to give the children a safe place where they can interact with other children and be themselves. It is excellent for the parents to meet other parents in similar situations.
SE4SK board member and Secretary Tammy Merinuk stated, “I am grateful for my friendship with Jami and to be a part of Jami’s goals and dreams. Jami has a huge heart and is loved by many!”
While New Jersey’s Heartland is filled with hidden gems, its biggest treasures are the people who make the region a great place to live, work, play, and raise a family. All Heartland Heroes receive a Heartland Heroes Certificate and Gift Basket in recognition of their award.
