Music Brings Cheer throughout the Heartland!
Music and the Holidays is a pairing that beats out even Peanut Butter and Jelly in popularity among children of all ages. Everyone who lives in and visits New Jersey’s Heartland will agree that we are blessed with the finest in music and culture during the holidays, and throughout the year.
The parade of holiday music begins in earnest on Sunday, November 25 with two great classical performances.
The Piano Quartet Masterworks launch their northeastern concert tour at Music at Bunker Hill at 3:00 p.m. Rachel Lee, William Frampton, Jia Kim, and David Kaplan, alumni of Itzhak Perlman’s Music Program, will perform a program that includes Fauré’s lush Piano Quartet No. 1, Beethoven’s contemplative and refined Piano Quartet, op. 16, and Dohnányi’s electrifying Serenade for String Trio.
Bunker Hill Presbyterian Church is located at 330 Greentree Road in Sewell, New Jersey. Tickets are $22 for adults and $10 for students and may be purchased by visiting www.musicatbunkerhill.org or calling 856.494.6077. Parking, including handicap accessible, is free and plentiful and a post-concert reception with the artists is included and completes this wonderful experience.
Also on November 25, in a timeless holiday traditional that has been entertaining families for generations, the New Jersey Ballet presents Nutcracker at the beautiful Levoy Theater in Millville, New Jersey. This classic holiday production, based on the story “The Nutcracker and the King of Mice” written by E.T.A. Hoffman, has been performed to rave reviews by the New Jersey Ballet for a half century. It promises to enchant children of all ages with splendid dancing, spectacular music, eye-popping special effects, colorful costumes and, of course, that little touch of holiday magic. Tickets are $27-$35 plus fees for the 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. performances, and can be purchased by visiting http://levoy.net/event/nutcracker18/.
In the true spirit of holiday giving, our New Jersey’s Heartland elves have been hard at work and have put together Ticket Giveaways for both the Piano Quartet Masterworks and New Jersey Ballet Presents Nutcracker at the Levoy.
