Public’s Participation Requested By Main Street Vineland In Completing To Survey To Develop The Downtown Vineland Of The Future
Main Street Vineland is requesting the public’s participation in a very important survey that will help develop the downtown Vineland—The Ave—of the future.
This online survey, developed by Main Street New Jersey, is currently being used in about 100 communities throughout the state. Several questions are asked in this short survey about people’s current impressions of our downtown, shopping habits, choices for future businesses, and their vision for the future of our downtown.
People can take the survey by going to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/9JQM6Y5. The deadline for taking the survey is Sunday, September 8, at midnight.
This will lead up to a full-day visit to downtown Vineland by Main Street New Jersey on September 12 for a “Transformation Strategy Development Technical Visit” involving Main Street New Jersey, as well as City, Main Street Vineland, business, and community leaders, and Vineland residents. This is a follow-up on a Main Street New Jersey Regional Kickoff Workshop that took place in Vineland in April, at which representatives from Main Street districts throughout the state came.
The September 12 visit, which will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., will include analyzation and application of the survey results, as well as helping to develop community-informed and market-driven strategies to direct and strengthen downtown revitalization efforts. Participation will include Main Street New Jersey leadership, Main Street Vineland leadership, Board members and staff, City leadership and stakeholders, business and property owners, and the community at large.
From the visit, strategies and activities will be developed from the assembled data to help steer revitalization efforts for the next three to five years.
“A downtown—like The Ave—is a constant work in progress. It is dynamic and always needs to be looked at with relation to the tastes, demographics, economic conditions, and shopping and business habits of the times,” said Main Street Vineland Executive Director Robert Swanson. “The survey and the subsequent full-day technical visit will help to adapt what was learned at the April session to our downtown’s needs and will move the process forward to chart a course of further progress with goals and objectives for The Ave.
