The Making of a Child Star
HAMMONTON, NJ – Eagle Theatre has opened their largest production to date, Ragtime, to sold-out houses, standing ovations, and rave reviews.
Based on the novel by E. L. Doctorow, this triumphant must-see musical masterpiece tells the story of three groups in America in the early 20th century: African Americans, represented by Coalhouse Walker Jr., a Harlem musician; upper-class suburbanites, represented by Mother, the matriarch of a white upper-class family in New Rochelle, New York; and Eastern European immigrants, represented by Tateh, a Jewish immigrant from Latvia.
Featuring the largest company and creative team ever assembled at the regional theatre, the Tony Award Winning musical also features a future star of tomorrow, eleven-year-old, Annabelle Corigliano.
Corigliano has performed in productions all over the Delaware Valley, including Annie and The Wizard of Oz at The Walnut Street Theatre. She is also a current enrollee of Eagle Theatre Conservatory, Eagle Theatre’s theatrical training institute, where she recently appeared in Into The Woods, Jr.
“Eagle Theatre Conservatory helped me grow as a performer by teaching me teamwork, etiquette, and performance skills. This was achieved through theatrical games, guest speakers, and rehearsals/performances of a full-scale musical,” states Corigliano.
While she remains in her formative years, this up-and-comer already has an agent, Reinhard (PA) and Take3Talent (NY).
Director of Youth Education and cast member of Eagle Theatre’s Barrymore Recommended production of Ragtime, Kimberly Suskind, shares, “Annabelle has always been a stand-out performer. It has been wonderful to watch her growth throughout the years within the program. We knew from her experience with the Conservatory that she was ready to take on a starring role in Eagle Theatre’s most ambitious mainstage musical. It is such a pleasure to share the stage with her!”
Next up, Annabelle will be appearing as Wednesday Addams in Addams Family at OVMS. But, first, she urges you to “Come see Ragtime! The story and music are so beautifully moving!”
