Tomfoolery Brewing Company Is Serious About Beer
Webster defines the word “tomfoolery” as being foolish. While the Tomfoolery Brewing Company in Hammonton may have been in a little silly about its name, anyone who has had the good fortune to have a taste will tell you they are 100% serious when it comes to making beer.
Over past few years, a number of quality craft breweries have sprung up throughout the Heartland of New Jersey. Among those at the top of the list are the Tomfoolery Brewing Company. Located within an area of the Heartland some think is better known for its wineries, the Tomfoolery Brewing Company is an independent, family-owned and highly successful craft microbrewery that is the creation of the husband and wife team of co-owners Shawn Grigus and Gayle D’Abate.
A member of the New Jersey Craft Beer and Brewers Associations and the Beer and Ale Trail of South Jersey, the Tomfoolery Brewing company and its owners pride themselves it on using fresh, locally-grown ingredients that combine in a refined, quality process to produces clean favors in every bright beer they brew. While the list of the beers they have created could fill a small encyclopedia, what’s currently on tap at Tomfoolery includes Limited Release Hole Mole Stout; Hoppy – Eastie Boys IPA – Imperial / Double New England, Sun Grown IPA – American, and Take Flight DIPA IPA – Imperial / Double; Balanced – NoSoBo Pilsner, Orbit the Sun Hefeweizen, Kanoe Kölsch, Feck Off Irish Stout – Irish Dry, and Mole Mexicana Stout; and Malty – Wee Bit O’ Milis Traditional Ale, Bob’s Bottlehouse Bock – Single / Traditional, S.M. Alder Imperial Smoked Porter Smoked Beer, and Crack Concrete Belgian Tripel Belgian Tripel.
The Tomfoolery Brewing Company is located at 334 Washington St. N #24b in Hammonton, NJ, 08037, convenient to the train and bus lines and vibrant downtown, which features a variety of local cuisine and great shopping.
The all-new ‘Foolery Tap Room, a comfortable room that features two regulation dart boards, a wide assortment of games for everyone, and a vintage piano just begging to be played, pours your favorite beers Friday from 5 p.m. to 10p.m., Saturday from Noon until 10 p.m. and Sunday from Noon to 6 p.m. After you buy your own stein, or better yet give one as a gift, you can add on a one-year or lifetime membership to Tom’s Stein Club, which entitles you to 22-ounce pours of almost all their beers for a regular-priced pour.
