Top Things to Do This February!
If you were looking for the perfect time to set out to get started on your 2017 goals, February could be your month! There are several Resume and Job Interview help sessions, GED/ High School Equivalency classes, and Life Goals classes being offered for free throughout the Heartland.
In celebration of Black History Month, Stockton University Kramer Hall will be presenting a free screening of the highly acclaimed film T-Rex – Her Fight For Gold. The film was first released in August and has won numerous awards. Take a look at what else is happening this February in New Jersey’s Heartland!

Deep Sea Diver John Meyer will give a lecture on the Andrea Doria at the Vineland Historical Antiquarian Society. Mr. Moyer has lectured on the Andrea Doria at the Explorers Club in Philadelphia and New York City and has been featured in numerous books and magazines. He has appeared on the History Channel, A&E Network, and Dateline NBC. He also appeared in the film, “Andrea Doria: Are the Passengers Saved?”
Celebrating Black History Month – Pop Up Free Free Film Screening

The film screening of T-Rex – The Fight for Gold will show at Stockton’s Kramer Hall. The film is about the story of Claressa “T-Rex” Shields from the hard knock streets of Flint, Michigan. Despite having had childhood filled with instability and family fighting additions, Claressa goes to the 2012 Olympics, the first Olympics where women’s boxing is included. At just 17 years-old, she is by far the youngest competitor there.
The films screening will be followed by a community discussion. The event is free, but RSVP is requested at https://t-rex.eventbrite.com.
