One of downtown Vineland’s biggest events of the year will again bring added festivity to the Thanksgiving weekend as the annual Main Street Vineland Christmas Parade returns to downtown Landis Avenue—The Ave—on Saturday, November 30, at 5 p.m., with the rain date of Sunday, December 1, at the same time.
Organized by Main Street Vineland, with BB&T as the major sponsor and Newfield National Bank as a supporting sponsor, this year’s parade will have the theme “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” and will feature a float contest, marching bands, and much more. The best float—in the “Large Float” category—will win, thanks to Rental Country, a Stihl BR550 backpack blower, which has a manufacturer’s suggest retail price of $429.95. Trophies will be awarded to the first, second, and third place winners in both the “Large Float” and “Petite Float” categories.
The parade will proceed on Landis Avenue through the downtown toward Myrtle Street and will be preceded by holiday-related performances by members of the Vineland Regional Dance Company.
Everyone is urged—after the turkey, football, and Black Friday and Small Business Saturday shopping—to come out and enjoy the fun.
If you were planning to register for the parade, please hurry! Registration ends soon!! Registration for parade participants is free, if received before Friday, November 15, with a $20 fee, if received after that date. The deadline for all registrations will be the following Friday, November 22. Registration is required to participate in the parade and no registrations will be allowed the night of the parade. Sponsorship opportunities are still available.
“The parade has always been one of the highlights of our event activities for the year and, as usual, a lot of hard work goes into planning it,” said Main Street Vineland Executive Director Russell Swanson. “We are looking forward, as usual, to a great parade that will bring holiday cheer to the entire family.”
